Egypts interim Prime Minister Hazem el-Beblawi said in an interview Tuesday it would be a mistake if the United States cut off military aid, but insisted Cairo could survive without it.
A violent crackdown by Egypts security forces against supporters of ousted president Mohamed Morsi has prompted Washington to cancel an exercise and delay the transfer of four F-16s, amid speculation more aid could be withheld from Cairo.
But Beblawi said that in the past, Egypt had turned to Russia for weapons and would find a way forward, even without American help if necessary.

Are they really allies if we have to pay them?
In the case of Israel we could actually get a lot closer to them. We could park a carrier group off their coast in the event they face a major attack. Just paying them to keep the carrier group supplied would amount to millions in trade. At the same time every smart governor in the country could lead trade missions to Israel to open up two way trade.

I know a lot of folks think we should quit providing a cent of support to any nations.
One hot spot opens up, and we spend ten times the money and lose thousands of our service member’s lives. Is that really an improvement?
