The Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill sees the recognition of same-sex unions by Western countries as a portent of doom. He called upon Russians to ensure that sin is never formalized by the rule of law.
"We face enormous temptations when countries start approving sin and codifying it into law in order to justify it, Itar-Tass quoted the patriarch as saying after the Sunday service in the Kazan Cathedral on Red Square.

I dont think that is what he was getting at.
Dude, had you heard much from Chechnya these days?
I believe Putin had a lot to do with the drastic population reduction there after a wave of terror incidents hit Russia.
[Putins’ embrace of the church is chess-playing,]
The KGB’s historical predecessors were the “church’s” secret police - the Oprichiniki.

Good reason to prohibit such state-establishments in a free country where the governed have the right and responsibility to contradict the errors of the fallible and uninspired eunuchs who would govern and enslave them.
I cannot help but get a chill every time I read how MOSES warned the children of Israel not to do as the nations they were to supplant. Those nations were being supplanted because of sexual evils and the worship of idols.
Lev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it [is] abomination.
Lev 18:23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it [is] confusion.
Lev 18:24 ¶ Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you:
Lev 18:25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.
Lev 18:26 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit [any] of these abominations; [neither] any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you:
Lev 18:27 (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which [were] before you, and the land is defiled;)
Lev 18:28 That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that [were] before you.
Lev 20:22 ¶ Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, SPUE you not out.
Lev 20:23 And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.
We have invited into our nation those who worship other gods, normalized SODOMY, offer our children on the alter of abortion.
When I was young, there were many churches wherever I lived. Now we have mosques, hindu temples, buddahist centers, occult (new age)worshipers and others near here and I see them slowly supplanting Christianity everywhere they start. Their influence is beginning to be seen ion TV and in movies as we are supplanted by others.
***Same sex, yes, but multiple wives? Where in the Bible does it say it is an “abomination”?****
Deu 17:15 Thou shalt in any wise set [him] king over thee, whom the LORD thy God shall choose: [one] from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which [is] not thy brother.
Deu 17:17 Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
Mat 19:9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except [it be] for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
So, according to this, taking a second wife is adultery.
And so many, including Old Testament people have done it.
Note at the bottom of this post. "2007 Russian and other Slavic populations decrease in number while the largely Muslim populations of nationalities indigenous to the North Caucasus grow." It looks like when Ramzan Kadyrov (muslim) took over he is using unethical means by the police to force Russians and Slavic out.

This is nearly exactly the kind of thing that took place in Kosovo by the Muslims. When Miloević attempted to deal with the problem the western world turned against him.
It will be interesting to see how Putin deals with it.
sorry, post number 27 was meant for VerysadAmerican which is a very sad name
I agree it is a step in the right direction. It will be a long time before the church could recover though and it will take leadership participation more then just support.
” We face enormous temptations when countries start approving sin and codifying it into law in order to justify it, Itar-Tass quoted the patriarch as saying after the Sunday service in the Kazan Cathedral on Red Square.”
B U M P on this!
We sure have gone into Bizzaroworld when the (former) Evil Empire is now talking about “sin” to the US... Wow... truly duct tape on head time here...
But then again...they’ve been through this already, and aren’t keen on going back. So they know.
“...the USAs moral depravity....”
It’s not “the USA’s” moral depravity. It’s “some in the USA’s” moral depravity.
The whole country isn’t on the bandwagon.
I bet gays were not treated lovingly under the USSR either.
From what I read the USSR Russia birthrate was much higher than it is now so this moral push is related to increasing the birthrate by Russians. I guess they dont have problems with Mexican invaders, too cold there.
“...I guess they dont have problems with Mexican invaders, too cold there...”
No, they have Chechen moslems instead. Except, they won’t put up with it. They’ll just kick their asses and do the Bristolski Stomp on them.
Here we give the food stamps, explosives and pressure cookers, just not guns. They might hurt someone with those.
” . I guess they dont have problems with Mexican invaders, too cold there. “
Plus, the Mexicans would have their heads stomped, and then would be jailed. They like food stamps better.
Great point.
