Climate Panel Cites Near Certainty on Warming
New York Times ^ | August 19, 2013 | JUSTIN GILLIS AND GRANT JUNKIE

Posted on 08/20/2013 9:04:17 PM PDT by Eric Blair 2084

international panel of scientists has found with near certainty that human activity is the cause of most of the temperature increases of recent decades, and warns that sea levels could conceivably rise by more than three feet by the end of the century if emissions continue at a runaway pace.

SNIP

The draft comes from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a body of several hundred scientists that won the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007, along with Al Gore. Its summaries, published every five or six years, are considered the definitive assessment of the risks of climate change, and they influence the actions of governments around the world. Hundreds of billions of dollars are being spent on efforts to reduce greenhouse emissions, for instance, largely on the basis of the group’s findings.

Billions of dollars in federal research grant money to tow the party line and keep the gravy train rolling. No conflict of interest there.

These "scientists" can pay the lease on their Audi A6 and McMansion near the University by doing real work. They would say the same thing if we cut off their taxpayer funding.

They are just objective scientists. They are doing this only out of there altruistic philanthropic concern for the wellbeing of their fellow man and our planet.

The whole thing does not even pass the laugh test. The idea that we can change the temperature on a tiny planet in the solar system is laughable.

Global Warming guru Algore – wearing his ever present Nobel medal – is seen here en-route to an important “scientific” conference in Nassau hosted by the UN/IPCC where he was to be the keynote speaker.

Topics on the agenda were to have included “Finding a Good Bail Bondsman,” “Not ALL Criminal Lawyers Are Sharks,” “Changing Careers for Dummies,” “You Want Fries With That?,” “How To Encrypt Emails,” “The Best Prison Jobs,” “Getting Along With Your Cellmate” and “Getting Used to Sleeping On Your Back.”

A sudden – and unfortunate – blast of what the “scientist” in charge of the conference termed “global warming” caused the meeting to be rescheduled until Algore can be thawed some time next Spring – assuming there will BE one.

Our reporter has learned that the influential conservative web site Free Republic has launched a contribution drive to rent a freezer locker in which to keep Gore for the 10 to 15 years estimated it will take for the so-called “mainstream media” to begin covering the Climategate story.

The IPCC is NOT a panel of scientists, although some members may have scientist credentials.

Hundreds of billions of dollars are being spent

One really doesn't need to know anything else about why "respected academics" would make a complete joke out of themselves.

Isn’t this the group whose emails disclosed that they were fudging the data?

It is the ultimate display of libtard arrogance to believe that we insignificant humans can change the climate of our Earth. It is not surprising because most libtards consider themselves to be little gods.

There have been endless periods of warming and cooling during Earth’s life. Humans were absent for almost all of these. How do the esteemed propagandists masquerading as objective scientists explain this? They don’t because they can’t.

Atheistic morons.

Good point. It's odd that the New York Times would present something that is so blatantly and verifiably false like this.

Rajendra Pachauri, for example, is the chairman of the IPCC. His academic background is in industrial engineering and economics. He's not a "scientist" by any objective measure.

Massive, endless (I think) universe.

You are right. STATISTS think that they are God. They can control everything. Even the temperature of a tiny planet in the Milky Way galaxy.

God has a sense of humor. This mocking will not end well for them.

Here's another item that caught my eye:

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change does no original research, but instead periodically assesses and summarizes the published scientific literature on climate change.

So this "panel of scientists" doesn't do any research on the subject matter, but they're presented as scientific experts? LOL.

It wasn't that long ago that SCIENTISTS were sure Neanderthal Man was a separate species, that no interbreeding took place between modern man and those Neanderthals took place.

Funny, how Environmental Industry has all the political power problems they accuse their opposites of.

Assume all of these lies are true. The cost for coastal cities to mitigate the damages are far less than the cost of deindustrializing the world.
