Canadian man caught with 8 lbs of marijuana-
U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Marysville Border Patrol station arrested a Canadian man smuggling marijuana into the United States Monday by crossing the St. Clair River in a scuba suit.
The incident occurred at approximately 1 a.m. when agents were notified by the Saint Clair County Central Dispatch that they had received a citizen call notifying them of an individual swimming across the Saint Clair River near Marine City, Michigan.
After receiving this information, Remote Video Surveillance System (RVSS) camera operators at the Operational Integration Center (OIC) on Selfridge ANGB were able to locate the individual in the river.
The camera operator relayed to agents on the ground that the subject appeared to be pulling a "dry bag" used by divers behind him. Border Patrol agents apprehended the Canadian man wearing a scuba suit after he got out of the water near Marine City. Agents then located a large watertight PVC cylinder holding over 8lbs of marijuana tied to a seawall ladder.
The individual and the narcotics were turned over to the St. Clair County Drug Task Force which accepted the case for prosecution.
Poor payoff.
(Where's the rest of the success stories?)
Really?
"they had received a citizen call "

But we lose over a thousand a day on our southern border - just sayin
This bust was clearly designed to provide some semblance of political enforcement equality between the two borders.
RIDICULOUS.
“”works”?”
“...appears as though...”
Couple of items:
the “U” in SCUBA, stands for UNDERWATER.
(so how come they could see him?)
if you’re going to haul 8 lbs. of something, Why pot?
This center had been around for a number of years and this is the first success story I've seen.
AND it’s only a partial success as it is based on a low tech citizen report.
Big Whoop for $$$$ gear.
From what I understand, the system at SANGB, MI is one of the first of its kind if not THE first, meant to be replicated and installed elsewhere in the US with new operators undergoing training on the Selfridge system.
Though I’d honestly want to know what resident of Marine City, Michigan was so overcome with insomnia and boredom that he or she was scanning the St. Clair River for Canadian scuba divers at 1 AM.
Scuba dooba doo.
To do something this stupid you would had to have smoked some of your scooby snacks
Because cocaine doesn’t grow in the Great White North?
Looks like some weird orchestra leader with some of the guys in his band.
