Boyd Marcus, a veteran Republican political consultant whose client list has included U.S. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor and former Gov. Jim Gilmore, is endorsing Democrat Terry R. McAuliffe and advising his campaign over GOP nominee Ken Cuccinelli in Virginia's neck-and-neck race for governor.
The announcement by McAuliffe's campaign, confirmed to The Associated Press on Tuesday in a phone interview with Marcus, rocked Virginia politics and exposed the clearest sign to date of bad blood within the GOP between its establishment and the tea party conservatives who comprise Cuccinelli's ardent army and control the state Republican Party machinery.

The endorsement means that the Republican public affairs firm of Marcus & Allen will dissolve. His partner, Ray Allen, said he's buying Marcus's shares of their 20-year-old business, which was the home base for Cantor's political campaigns. Allen will continue working with Cantor.

Anybody who thought the GOP-e was fundamentally different from the DemoRats should take note of this.
glad I sent some $$ to Cucinelli. Nada repeat nada to any org with ‘GOP’ in the name.
Elitists out of touch-why wouldn’t Cuccinelli just use this as an example that T. McAuliffe is just an elitist in the political class out of touch with ordinary voters?!
The goal of the establishments of both parties is to, at all cost, defeat any conservative for office.
Those EEEEVIL Tea Partiers again. They only believe in:
* Application of the US Constitution to everyone equally
* Small government that stays out of people’s lives
* Low taxes
* The rule of law
* Rewarding hard work that achieves results
* The nuclear family as a stabilizing force on society
No wonder the GOP-E hates them so!
Divide and conquer; AP to the rescue.

The good news is McAwful’s chances of winning just dropped significantly.
It’s pretty hilarious, given that McCaullife isn’t one of those “middle-of-the-road” democrats that we sometimes get here in Virginia, but a true liberal political operative.
Even most of our liberal democrats tend to act conservative, but not McCauliffe.
The issue with Ken is that he isn’t really a die-hard conservative ideologue, he’s actually just a good principled guy who therefore follows conservative principles. He goes after the establishment, sometimes being what was known as a “populist” in olden days.
He’s way to genuine for the entrenched political class of Virginia, where we truly do have “good old boys” who could be republican or democrat from one day to the next, because they don’t really have principles, being a politician is just a job for them.
My guess is Marcus was really a Bolling fan, part of the “hey, we worked out a deal and Ken is breaking the “rules” by treating the nomination as an actual contest to be one”.

” The goal of the establishments of both parties is to, at all cost, defeat any conservative for office.”
Yep. Whatever it takes.
The ‘Rats must have enough dirt on him to equate to “having him by the b@!!$.” And as the saying goes; Once you have a guy by the b@!!$, his heart and mind will fall right in line!
Screw the GOP-E! It just proves the point that they are also statists.
Truth is, there’s really just one political party in this country, and only a few “mavericks” (not including the most famous one) don’t fit easily into it.
Actually I do not think the is a “traitor”. Just another millionaire protecting his turf.
Wow.. see how they run. Every man has his price.
One party two wings. This is much like someone playing baseball in the American League switching to the National League. The goal is the same.
In the case of baseball, it’s win the World Series.
In the case of the political class, it’s screw the American people.
A firm funding the car company founded by Va gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe has claimed on its website for months that its MyCar electric vehicle had been approved by the Defense Dept for U.S. military installations worldwide but govt officials say they have no record of such an approval.
The Washington Times searched a database of companies and contractors with business before the federal govt and found no mentions of GreenTech Automotive or its MyCar two-seat vehicle. Govt officials, too, found no evidence that GreenTech had been approved by the Defense Dept to be a listed supplier for military installations.
Gulf Coast Funds Management LLC (run by Hillary Clinton's brother Anthony Rodham) helps secure foreign investments in exchange for visas for GreenTech its only listed client had been making the claim on its website since earlier this year but quietly removed it last week after an inquiry from The Times.

I’d say he’s more like a veteran wolf in sheeps clothing....
I would just like to point out the fact that every time I say that the GOP is filled with mercenaries and we need a third party, some rocket surgeon pops up to say that no, we can reform it.
Someone tell me again how to do that when there a a few thousand more there like this.
I’ll wait.
