As near as I could tell, the military and politicians, before Erdogan, were stirring up trouble against the Kurd separatists in the southeast? And now, Erdogan has used that scandal/plot to purge the military of its secular leadership - is that about right?
No, the Turkish military was slaughtering Kurds with Erdogan’s blessing and some NATO ally’s assistance. Try reading about ‘Sledgehammer’ and ‘Turkey’ - that might clear it up a bit.
