TRENTON, N.J. (AP) -- Gov. Chris Christie plans to sign a bill Monday barring licensed therapists from trying to turn gay teenagers straight, making New Jersey the second state to ban so-called conversion therapy, along with California.

As an aside, he had weight-loss surgery in January or February....wonder why we’ve seen no reports on how much the whale has lost.
Actually the libertarians will be even more bothered by Christie's actions. Regardless of what anyone thinks about a particular form of talk therapy, what right does the government have to ban it? Put another way, shouldn't a psychologist and a patient be able to talk about anything they want to behind closed doors?
To the maximum extent possible, outside of fraudulent activities, why should government limit what medical treatments people can seek? Particularly when the activities involved are essentially just speech.

When the u-toob vid of lardboy bashing the teachers union thugs came out a bunch of folks immediately started singing his praises. Their wishful thinking projected onto him attributes he’s never had. They were looking for a hero to rescue them from the leftist cesspool and felt (instead of thinking) that he was the one. Christie isn’t a conservative - heck he’s only nominally a Republican!
But prepare to be disappointed - the good citizens of New Jersey will back him again. What other choice do they have? In order to support and vote for conservatives conservatives have to run. And (like in my own state) I see very few bothering.

When I was a kid it was against the law to try and turn a teenager into a homosexual, now it is illegal for even his therapist to try and help him stay normal.
This very typical lefty-liberal. They talk about being free to be whoever you are, but really they have a very “set in stone” idea of what that is.
If someone wants to change their ways, for whatever reason, they will not let you under force of law!
