I watched Dark Days last night with a friend. It’s a documentary about people who’d been living in the subway tunnels of NYC for 10-20 years.
Amtrak kicked them out because “2 people” had died within a year (one froze to death and the other got hit by a train). One of the denizen’s estimate is that 80 percent of them were crack.
One resident got in a beef with another and the other guy burned his shack down.
But considering it’s NYC, the crime, rodent problem, and health seems to be better down there than among the general populace.
