Isn't that the truth!
I was 17 years old when I raised my right hand and proudly donned a uniform. That was in 1961, and the wonderful '50s and Eisenhower were still fresh memories. Of course, we had the Communists, the Cold War, and Castro, and Khrushchev banging his shoe at the UN, and Vietnam and the Hippies and Beatles were still ahead of us. But so was Reagan and the Roaring '80s!
When I finally proudly hung up that uniform for the final time in 1998, we had gone from I LIKE IKE all the way downhill past the fiendish LBJ and the feckless Jimmah Chahtah to the shameless Clintoons and Monica and Johnny Chung. I thought, surely we could go no lower. The only way left was "up", and finally most of us would see and agree, right? How wrong I was.
Like you, I miss the old America - what we were, what we stood for, what we valued, how we were always the First and the Best, and how the American Dream was not just a dream but a reality even if an imperfect one. But if it not too late, we may yet live to see another Reagan and cheer this great country on once again...?
out there in the swampland of Post Modern America there IS a young lad busily doing everything he does to the best of his abilities.
He will soon focus on the need to see this Nation once again become the land our Forefathers Fought For.
He will be “another Reagan”.
May a loving and gracious God hear our prayers, once again!
Prayer is indeed the answer! Regardless of what we may do..prayer needs to remain at the top of our list of priorities.
Hey! To everyone yapping and complaining about Freep having difficulties, I agree with you..it does happen sometimes.
Hey Jim doesn’t have Googles multi billions..and Freep is doing AMAZINGLY WELL all things considered. And on DONATIONS?
I even got to post this..and so many excellant comments today!
Well said! I actually heard some Fox News people wondering aloud awhile ago....’Is the Egyptian crisis just too hard to cover? Too complicated?’
I almost had a stroke!! It is their jobs to report the various angles and facts to the story. Tells me they either think the American people are too stupid or they are too lazy and or stupid to do their jobs.
It could be a mixture of both...lol.
“Those who can, do. Those who can’t become teachers, bureaucrats or journalists.”
Another way to illustrate how always acquiescing to a vote because you believe in “True Democracy” can be wrong (and I love to use it on White Guilt Liberals and Black radicals)...
Point # 1. The Jim Crow laws were popular among white voters in the 1890s not only in the South, but many Northern and Midwestern states. Some states in the Midwest had very few blacks, but enthusiastically voted in race restrictions in those days. Would it have been right to support such laws? After all, the voters had spoken.
Point # 2. The Klu Klux Klan was at its heyday in the 1920s. The Klan could have easily formed a Party and run for local, state and national offices. Just like the Nazi started to do after Hitler’s failed Bier Garten Putsch. If they had won, would you accept their legitimacy?
If the liberals so challenged could think, they’d realize that sometimes “True Democracy” is two wolves and a sheep deciding what’s for dinner.
I prefer a constitutional Republic, one person, one vote, and protection of not just minority rights, but everyone’s rights. EQUAL protection under the law.
Great examples! Yes and liberals hate the fact that we are a republic and not a mobocracy...lol.
Unless, of course, those mobs were filled with angry, older white people who are Christian. Then, well that’s a TEA party, and everyone one of those liberals rejects mobocracy at that moment!
