BRUNSWICK, Ga. (AP) — It was a tiny bullet that took the short life of Antonio Santiago.
He had learned to walk, but not yet talk, when he was killed March 21, six weeks after his first birthday. He was strapped in his stroller, out for a walk with his mother a few blocks from their apartment near the Georgia coast, when someone shot the boy between the eyes with a .22-caliber bullet the size of a garden pea.
The teenager charged as the shooter is scheduled to stand trial next week in a courthouse far from the scene of the crime. Because of public outrage and news coverage, a judge has moved 18-year-old De'Marquise Elkins' trial 325 miles away, to the suburbs outside Atlanta.
Jury selection starts Monday at the Cobb County courthouse in Marietta. Superior Court Judge Stephen Kelley has set aside two weeks for the trial.
Elkins faces life in prison if convicted of murder. His youth spared him a possible death sentence. At the time of the shooting he was 17, too young to face capital charges in Georgia.
Police say the motive was as banal as the slaying of a toddler was shocking. Investigators concluded that Antonio was killed during an attempted street robbery as his mother, Sherry West, was strolling home with the child from the post office. West said a gunman demanding cash shot her baby in the face after she told him she had no money.....
"He kept asking, and I just said 'I don't have it,'" West told The Associated Press the day after the slaying. "And he said, 'Do you want me to kill your baby?' And I said, 'No, don't kill my baby!'".........

Guaranteed this will receive minimum coverage in the MSM because it undercuts the leftwing narrative that America is a hotbed of racial hatred by white people directed at innocent blacks. Al Sharpton and Opera Winfrey will be otherwise engaged or claim the shooter killed the infant because of slavery and oppression by white people. Perhaps Emmett Till will be mentioned in the shooters defense but mostly expect ‘crickets’ from the MSM on this one.
His vicimt wasn't spared the death sentence.
If he's old enough to put a bullet in a baby, he's old enough to pay the price for the crime. And anyone animal enough to kill a baby strapped in a stroller, is not human. He has sold his soul to the devil and is a danger to anyone or anything as long as he remains alive.
Sometimes rabid people need to be put down for the protection of society, just like rabid dogs are.
Little baby Antonio brought down the whole Elkins crime family including a politically connected uncle.
I think his life in prison will be a short one.
Ok without even reading this article I will say the shooter is black, probably in his 20s or younger. I’m serious, I am posting this without even reading it. Just going by the title alone. Just want to prove to the libs the difference between “racist” and “prejudice”. Prejudice created by the fact that almost always these type of crimes are perpetrated by young blacks which libs completely and utterly ignore. Ok here I go...Am I right?

To make things worse, his defense says that the child was shot by his own mother — for insurance money.
I just wish once found guilty and the "one" appeal process is done with, this feral animal needs to meet is maker...

An Australian college student was killed in a drive-by shooting in the middle of the afternoon yesterday. Police have arrested 3 “youths”. Nothing else about the perps has been released so far.
