U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin is a statist and a bully. The Senator, known for comparing U.S. soldiers to Nazis, recently used his senatorial letterhead to demand answers from us here at the Freedom Foundation. Sen. Durbin wants to know whether the Freedom Foundation is, or ever has been, a member of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC).

ALEC is an organization made up of legislators, other organizations, and businesses that believe in fiscal conservatism, free markets, and constitutional federalism. Its meetings are about brainstorming and debating policy ideas, sharing information, and sometimes developing model legislation that legislators might choose to introduce in their own states. In short, ALEC allows people to talk about ideas
mostly conservative people, that is, and mostly conservative ideas.
For everyone on this board and across the nation and especially our Washington band of Freepers I am posting this to remind you how precious freedom is and how hard liberals are working around the clock to take it away from us.
Durbin's letter: Page 1
and Page 2
which means they’re a danger to the progressive agenda and therefore an enemy of the state
that’s how it works with progressives / liberals / commies / marxists / fascists
know you enemy and understand their tactics or you will have no hope of defeating them
In answer to your questions, I offer you only the last words broadcast by the Lithuanian free radio station on January 13, 1991, as Soviet troops were barging through their doors.
"It is possible that [the Soviet government] can break us with force
or close our mouths, but no one will make us renouce freedom
and independence"
AWESOME!!!

I am so thankful to see that someone has finally responded to this tyrant.
I love it!
“Dear sen. Turbin.......Nuts!”
Durbin is a fricking constitution-hating, liberty-hating, America-hating communist!!
Wish we could burn him in effigy like the libtards do, but we’d be arrested for “threatening” him.
“Sen. Durbin wants to know whether the Freedom Foundation is, or ever has been, a member of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC).”
I have never heard of ALEC, but if Sen. Turban is against it, it has to have something going for it.
Excellent, excellent response letter. Loved it. Put this letter in the congressional record and shove it Senator Turbin.
Agreed!
Looks ok to me.

Great response to Comrade Senator Durbin from the freedom Foundation:
No one will make us renounce freedom
And I’ll add mine to the commie lover:
You want my freedom, come and take it!
