Weiner hasn't had much interesting to say of late.

I'm not sure why he's so combative, but of late, if I were G.B., I wouldn't let him in.

This also squares nicely with what Alan Colmes predicted back in July.

Yeah, but I don't like Skeletor.

The “intellectual” libs at HuffPo are thrilled and firmly believe Hannity was dumped. They are advocating to get all non-liberal talk off the air.

It will be interesting to see if Hannity takes over the 12-3 spot on Clear Channel’s KFI in Los Angeles. That would be quite the prize since he would follow Limbaugh who is on KFI from 9-12. Local times of course.

Hannity must grow. He must stop arbitrarily interrupting his guests, raise his expectations regarding his knowledge set, and resist the temptation to discuss childish content.

Hannity is boring. He’s intelligent but intellectually lazy.

I notice there are a lot of anti-Hannity people on FR. I understand he gets tedious at times but I find him to be one of the most effective conservative reporters on the air today. I get a lot of information from him on what is going on in Washington. His liberal guests are painful, but he does a whole lot of good getting the conservatives air time. He has done an excellent job analyzing Obamacare, Benghazi, IRS, Obama as a whole, Reid and Pelosi’s disgusting actions and really exposes the madness of the left.

Not at Rush’s level as an analyst (nobody is) or a constitutional scholar like Levin (nobody is). But he has a very strong memory and does a great job connecting the dots on all the important issues and offers a clear chronology and context from A to Z. He’s only human, and I think he is an excellent reporter who has his facts straight. He is our ally.

Actually, I believe Hannity’s version of events, because of one element that is missing from this story: according to Politico, Cumulus has re-upped with Rush Limbaugh, meaning his station will continue to air on such stations as WABC, WLS, WMAL and WBAP. If Lew Dickey was working feverishly to resign Rush (contrary to media reports), it stands to reason that he wanted to renew Hannity’s contract as well.

Dickey knows who butters the bread of his news/talk outlets and it’s none other than Rush. If you look at the ratings of stations like WABC and WMAL, you’ll see that Limbaugh far out-performs the rest of the line-up. In liberal Washington, DC, for example, Rush’s program often is among the top 5 in its timeslot, while WMAL’s morning show (and Hannity in the afternoon) are typically #12-#17 in the ratings. Without Rush, WMAL would lose even more listeners and advertising dollars.

The fact that Cumulus re-upped with Rush (barely a month after the reported split) indicates that the host and his syndictor, Premier Radio Networks, got the deal that they wanted. Contrary to the article’s claim, if any personality had Dickey over a barrel, it was Rush. The Cumulus CEO tried to blame his sales problem on Limbaugh and more recently, suggested that his company was ready to dump the nation’s #1 talk show host. Now, they’ve quietly renewed his contract and on Rush’s terms, not theirs.

There are two losers in this scenario. First and foremost, there’s Mike Huckabee, touted as an alternative to Limbaugh by none other than Lew Dickey. But when Cumulus had the chance to make the switch, they balked. You’d better believe that Cumulus had plenty of research that confirmed what most radio executives already know: Huckabee is a competent host, but he’s no substitute for Rush. Putting Huckabee in the 12noon-3 pm slot would have been a disaster and a death knell for many of Cumulus’s news and talk outlets.

The second loser in this is Sean Hannity. Had Rush not re-upped, Clear Channel was prepared to flip a number of its FM stations around the country (and a few AM outlets) to a talk format, built around Rush. If Limbaugh has resigned with Cumulus, it’s far less likely that Clear Channel will make the format switch. Premier can move Hannity to other stations in various markets, but it won’t be the same, since Clear Channel won’t be spending the promotional money that would come with a format change (and the move of Rush’s and Sean’s programs) in places like New York, Chicago, and Dallas.

One more thing: Savage in the afternoon will be a complete flop, so Rush’s lead-in will be wasted. His long-form rants and excursions into cooking and childhood stories don’t work well in a drive-time slot.

While Sean is not my most favorite talker he’s light years better than Michael Savage. Who in their right mind (if the unintended pun works, go for it) would possibly can Hannity in favor of Savage?

I guess Hannity fired himself from his prime time spot on Fox News.
Only to move in the near future to non-prime time.
