"Egypt is in flames. What should I tell the American people, Susan?"

"After saying 'the Taliban is on the run and Osama Bin Laden
is dead'.... tell 'em Gen El-Sissi is a big sissy for not taking your call."

=========================================

Egyptian Gen. El-Sissi did not accept Obama’s phone call......shows that the military strongman is determined to keep the US admin from interfering in his plans to drive the Muslim Brotherhood out of Egyptian politics. After Wednesday's bloodbath, when Muslims gathered to mourn their dead at the mosque, Gen El-Sissi drove out the mourners, and confiscated the Muslim bodies.

I guess Susan Rice will have to go on Sunday TV talk and explain this foreign policy flopola...since she has been advising Obama on Egypt while he's relaxing in the Vineyard.

I am impressed. The military has said from the start that they were only maintaining interim authority until an election can be held. Rebuilding the churches will certainly gain the support of the American people, if not our government.

The American People? Yes, Certainly. Our Government, there is NO WAY. Obozo put Morsi & MB in power and will never turn against him/them. Obozo will never be one of US, but is always one of Them.

We should offer safe haven to the Copts here and let the muzzies kill each other to their heart’s content.

I'm guessing this was a factor in Obama's decision to cut aid to them.

Tell Obama that you'll build more mosques and destroy more churches, and he'll be willing to help you out.

LOL. Well, you are half right. I have a hard time believing that Obama is going to give up his love for the Muslim Brotherhood anytime soon. After all, the Muslim Brotherhood is from the same tribe as Obama. They are both Sunnis.

I think it's the right thing to do.  I still think Egypt will miss the foreign aid now that they've actually done about the only thing that WOULD upset the _resident.

I’m happy to hear they plan to rebuild the churches, and by implication, protect Coptic Christian Egyptians.

I would like to think that many Americans would be pleased, too, but I don’t expect Obama and his crew to care.

One other thing: I wonder if Putin is behind this. In other words, the military might be being a bit more generous and concerned about the Christians if Putin’s influence was rising, and he asked for it. It’s a good thing either way. Anything Obama influences turns bad.

Rebuilding the churches will certainly gain the support of the American people....but there is NO WAY Obozo will turn against Morsi & MB. Obozo will never be one of US, he is always one of Them.

Gen Al-Sissi would not take Obama's call---signaling the General's determination to drive the Muslim Brotherhood out of Egyptian politics. After Wed's bloodbath, he drove Muslims from the mosque where they had gathered to ID their dead---Al-Sissi then confiscated the bodies.

=================================================

MILITARY.COM EXCERPT---US Pentagon officials declined to give specifics on conversations between DOD's Chuck Hagel and Egyptian Gen al-Sisi, but chief Pentagon spokesman George Little said that "US officials at all levels have made it clear that we support the democratic process in Egypt and that we hope that this period of tension can be resolved in a peaceful manner and that violence can be avoided." "We don't support any single party or group," Little said. "We believe that this needs to be resolved through political means."

Although the officials would not discuss the specifics of the military-to-military talks, the U.S. would need Gen al-Sisi's approval to move through Egyptian air space if Washington decided to send Marines to aid in the evacuation of U.S. personnel.

About 550 Marines and their tilt-rotor MV-22 Osprey aircraft are at bases in Spain and Italy on standby if they are needed. A Navy Amphibious Ready Group with 4,000 Marines and sailors aboard, led by the helicopter assault ship Kearsarge, was also in the region following completion of the Eager Lion training exercises in Jordan.

Gen Al-Sisi, 58, received a masters degree from the U.S. War College in Carlisle, Pa., in 2006.

Why you shocked? This generation of the Egyptian Army was trained by the West. Many high ranking officers studied abroad. No surprise to me. Excellent political move.

This is true freedom in the Middle East. Even under Mubarek, churches could not be rebuilt, even after Muslims torched them.

Actions speak louder than words. When it comes to an Islamic arab, that’s all that matters.
