Legal and acceptable as part of mature political discourse are two very different things.

As far as your right to revolution, are you planning to violently overthrow the government of the United States of America? What about the right to do so of others, who hold different political views than you?

You will, of course, give your life to defend other American's rights, won't you?

It’s acceptable to me. Putting politicians on notice is a good thing.

Part of the right to revolution is the right to fight against the revolution. If a group comes up that is even bigger douches than the guys we’ve got then we can join the army and fight the rebellion. Or we could put together our own group, sit it out while they weaken each other and sweep in. Jefferson wanted lots of revolutions, that’s the point of the first half of the Bill of Rights, we’ve let him down.

The government we have now only superficially resembles the one laid out in the US Constitution and is far exceeding it's legal mandate in every corner of our lives.

So where does that put your calculus at?
