A new political dynasty might soon be joining the Kennedys, Clintons and Bushes: Duck Dynasty, that is.

Some key Republican operatives are eager to woo one of the hit show's stars--Willie Robertson--to run for the seat given up by retiring Republican Rep. Rodney Alexander.

Alexander, expressing frustration with divided government, is going to work in Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal's cabinet. He will leave at the end of September and a special election will be held to fill the open seat.

He represents the 5th District, including Monroe, La., home to the group headed by Robertson, the game call and hunting companies Duck Commander and Buck Commander. Alexander and his staff are also friendly with the Robertson family, especially Willie. Sign Up for the Paul Bedard newsletter!

Robertson is more famous for the TV hit Duck Dynasty on A&E about the family business, in which where he is known for being the CEO prankster. He is a self-described "redneck millionaire."

"My boys want to run Willie Robertson for the seat," said a key outside advisor to House GOP leadership. The source said that efforts are being made to interest Robertson into running.

Willie doesn’t have the time. He’s a CEO.

Phil? That I would like to see.

Thanks for those hilarious quotes! It shows that Si is pretty sharp. But he talks so fast that you miss half of what he’s saying.

I saw that one too and they were razzing him to death for the poodle. Sure shut ‘em up when the poodle performed like a hunting dog.

I’m thinking Si is the smartest of them all.

A lot of people didn’t bother to read the article or just skimmed through it and are under the impression that Willie is considering a run for the U.S. House. He is not.

He is considering the Louisiana House.

He is smart and he's a good sport for allowing himself to be the stooge and target of jokes. Si has been married over 40 years and has a successful grown daughter.

Willie and Korie attended the WH Correspondent’s Dinner as GUESTS of Christian Broadcasting Network and it wasn’t at the WH.

That's right....but the point still is why would they attend that event, even as guests of CBN? With Obama’s war on Christianity, pro abortion stance, pro homosexuality stance and pro gay marriage stance, why would a good Christian travel to Washington to hobnob with Obama and his sycophant media?

Yeah, but you can’t knock a career in the military. That’s something to be proud of too!

“you can’t knock a career in the military. That’s something to be proud of too!”

I concur. My dad spent 20 years in the military and retired as a 1st sergeant. 1 tour of korea, 2 tours of Viet Nam. I was never in the military but grew up an army brat so I got the discipline whether I wanted it or not. Those lessons have paid dividends my whole life, not to mention all the travel I experienced as a kid.
