President Obama: rolling up his sleeves for America's middle class
Yet again it is the British press doing the job the American mainstream media chooses not to. The Telegraph has a story (prominently headlined on the highly influential Drudge Report) about the US president’s dog Bo, being specially airlifted to the exclusive Massachusetts resort of Martha’s Vineyard to join the First Family for their summer vacation. As The Telegraph’s Nick Allen reports:
Rooms have to be found for dozens of Secret Service agents, someone has to carry a selection of presidential basketballs, and of course the family dog needs his own state-of-the-art aircraft.
Arriving in the idyllic coastal retreat of Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts, Mr Obama left behind him in Washington DC high profile debates over the budget, government surveillance and his health care reforms. Instead, he will spend the next eight days playing golf, going to the beach, and buying books from the Bunch of Grapes bookstore.
… Bo, the president's Portuguese Water Dog, arrived separately on one of two MV-22 Ospreys, a hybrid aircraft which takes off like a helicopter but flies like a plane. It was the first time the Ospreys have been taken on holiday by a US president.

Pride before the fall...
Who accompained Obama on his many trips around the world at taxpayer expence ? Were they the heavy hitters or their friends holding the president’s hand ? Never looked into either by the House and certainly not even speculated about or reported on by the media. Seems like that could be considered pay back at US taxpayer expence. Isn’t that an impeachable offense ? Now if somebody even suggests impeachment. What better way to discourage any investigation into malfeasance and corruption by organizing the base for riots in the streets ? Picking on some guy of mixed race doing his job and painting a target on his back.
Substitute Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe for Barack Obama and the similarities as well as the national results become obvious.
It must be that laser like focus on (killing) jobs that wears the poor man out.
Does anyone remember the press hoopla about GWB’s vacations? They screamed and Bush only went to Camp David and his ranch.
They have no problem with the O’s extravagance.
The dude going on any vacation he can afford is not “thumbing his nose at America’s middle class”, that’s lefty talk.
What I want to know is by whom, and how, are the appropriations for all of Obama’s recreational activities determined.
It seems to me that his salary of $400K ought to cover his vacations. Running the White House (chow, etc) is a reasonable separate appropriation.
But the First Family has expenses running in excess of $100 million/year, courtesy of the Republican House, and THAT is grossly unreasonable.
Does anyone know where in the Federal budget or other appropriations structure this money is located?

I would no more let my kids walk around in the white hut than allow them to visit a whore house. No telling what kind of nasty sh#t they would pic up in there.

Its not like there aren’t a thousand people in the Whitehouse that could babysit the dog for a week.
