I think I may go in there and start to buy some. If they try to make me give ID, then I’ll just walk out, telling them I’ll go without. Might not be smart to say “Oh, then I’ll just go buy it from people who mind their own business (and it’s cheaper anyway)”, because to an authoritarian, that just translates to “Oh, people still have enough freedom to decide for themselves whether to bend over and tolerate our nannying. Something MUST be done about that!!” and in today’s dysfunctional climate, they just might succeed!

Years ago, if you were an adult, and presented ID, you could buy codeine cough syrup if you had a chest cold. You did have to sign for it. One day, I went to my former pharmacy and asked to buy some. I was refused. It wasn’t a law, just a new store policy. I wigged out! I was sick and just wanted to get the stuff and go back to bed. I didn’t need to spend a bunch for an office visit for a cold! I went to my doc’s. He said, “Your usual Winter chest cold?” He wrote me a script with no charge for a visit. Afterall, it was just a cold. I went back to the pharmacy, waved the script in the owner/pharmacist’s face. Told him what I thought of him and his new policy, and informed him he’d get no more business from me. He was pi$$ed! I laughed my way out! Rant off!
