PEMBROKE PINES (CBS4) – The security video shows a 14 year-old mental patient being escorted down a hallway when a Pembroke Pines police officer reaches in and grabs the girl. The girl whirls and swats at the officer, and he proceeds to punch her in the face. The officer’s blow to the mentally disturbed teen snapped her head back, and appeared to be delivered with full force. Other officers join in, wrestling the girl to the ground and spraying her with Mace.

Well - this is what we’ve come to nowadays...
She being 14 - mentally ill - and who knows what sort of abuses have occurred...so why would anyone assume that when someone she fears (adults) grab her that she wouldn’t fight back - and knowing that - why would someone be ready to strike her...that girl probably has gone through all kinds of different levels of physical abuse...geez...disturbing...that cop needs to be FIRED and his L.E. Cert cancelled.
What a sick society we live in and each day it gets worst...thanks to all you Progressives and Liberals - thanks for targeting those that cannot defend themselves - who never asked to be born this way - enabling the drug communities both legal and illegal - thanks for stealing from the rest of us that work...thanks for shoving your utopia of vomit down our throats....
I have always had friends on the police force... I was taught how to shoot and gunsmith by police. I loaded skeet rounds for them and they in turn trained me. I have held friendships with police throughout my lifetime. I have been active for years in support groups and fund raising for police in need. Most of my friends are retired now... but they tell me that there are a few “new kind of cops” that are on duty these days and ‘roids are abused to bulk muscle mass... and it makes them mean... to us and to each other. Their term was “militant”.
I consider a kid that aspires to be a cop (for whatever reason), applies, takes the test, attends academy and is finally assigned a duty station ... what? .. 8 years of dreamin', 4 years of gettin' it done ... 12 or so years ... and the kid ends up capable of snapping on a moments notice.
Worse ... if it ever gets to a court, the cop has rationale and reason .. backed by a complicit cadre and commeraderie.
The days of officer O'Flannery walkin' the beat are so long gone.
Instead we have (in the beginning of things) an unmarried guy with a nine or more caliber on his side with the license to kill a human being.
We have the right ... they have the license ... meditate on THAT for a while)
So this guy, teeming with testosretone, armed and supported ... , trained to ignore his biology ... is supposed to end up as a normal human being ?
The best cops are small town cops ... they're local ... normal goin' in ... decent guys on the job.
you just dont know how bad it is. speaking for polk cty and a mother who has had 1 of 5 kids tangled up in the juvenile system...
its a good ole boy system here. my main beef is with the legal system not necessarily the cops. the line at bartow court house some mornings wraps around the bldg . looks like they are giving away free stuff.
never seen so many people who have had some sort of run in with the law.

Trouble with that is that is that a lot of “small towns” now “farm out” their police departments to another entity like ours does. We “contract” with the county sheriff’s dept. to provide “police services,” and as a consequence, our “police officers” are not “locals,” but rather a bunch of misfits withs size 44 uniforms and size 4 hats.. So much for “community” policing,”
Yes, it reminds of rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Get that boat towed back in to land, would have been its only hope.

I’ve seen a few cops in Port St. lucie that have packed on more muscle than a WWE wrestler.

Thats the way it usta was as in my town,they all lived here..Now none do and come from the city and work in suburbia and don’t really give a crap about those that pay their salary.

I agree. I am saddened that my children, and children around the world are paying for the sins of their fathers and mothers. Kicking God out of public life results in the horrible abuses that will get more vile and more common. I guess we are down to that point where we try to survive and take care of as many as we can. The President attended services led by a man who thought God should damn America. J Wright, et al, will you never be sated by the blood of the innocents on your altars? Can’t they realize, they have become the monsters they preach against?
