A day after the White House announced that it would scrap a planned bilateral meeting with Vladimir Putin, the Russian president sent well-wishes to former President George W. Bush via telegram following his heart surgery. Russian media outlets were told about it promptly, and the news quickly spread.

The move is already being seen as a veiled slap at Obama, whose frosty posture toward the Kremlin is a marked contrast from the congenial reception Putin received from the Bush administration.

'It may have been coincidence that the Kremlin released details of the telegram a day after Barack Obama pulled out of a planned summit with Putin,' a Reuters report said, 'but little is left to chance in Russian politics.' on Facebook

Never ever thought I’d see the day when so many Americans would have more respect for the Russian President than the POTUS!

BHO needs a round house.”

Bet BO doesn’t even know the saying that goes with your statement or a lot of people on this site, for that matter. I haven’t heard it in a long time. Made me chuckle.

Say what you may but it is undeniable that
Both Bush and Putin are heterosexual male leaders.
Obama is a metrosexual something who is defiantly NOT a leader.

“There is the recollection of one Peter Townsend (The Who) when working aliong-side Jimi Hendricks in a neighboring London studio. Hendricks just simply made his guitar go through several “tricks” that Townsend could not reproduce and Peter says, the message was...don’t f*** with me because I (Jimi) am levels better than you. Townsend was severly humbled.”

Yes, but when it came to song writing and lyrics, nobody was better than Townshend. But I get your point; Townshend knew the better man when it came to playing guitar. 0bama has no clue that he is being totally dissed and humiliated by Putin. Not only is 0bama an incompetent fool, an empty suit used as a tool by others, he is the worst kind of fool.

The fool who doesn’t realize he’s a fool.

Who respects Obama overseas? Who? Answer: no one. He is respected less than Jimmy Carter, and that is an enormously pathetic accomplishment.

Which is why when Townshend went solo in 80s, he used David Gilmour.

That would be hilarious. And have Putin have some face time with Rand Paul, Sarah Palin, etc.

Great stuff.

Why is Putin a “tyrant”?

Why is Obama NOT a tyrant? Both meet the classic definition of being relatively unaccountable to the electorate as a whole, and especially vindictive to those who choose to challenge the imperial decisions that are issued with only a thin veneer of legitimacy.

He’d stop off on some cattle ranch in Texas....talk oil, natural gas and beef with a dozen ranchers. Then he’d stop and pose for pictures while he and his entourage travels by SUV across NM and AZ...stopping off at the Grand Canyon and chatting with Japanese tourists.

I like the idea. I'd like to extend an invite to ol' Vlad to come shooting while he's in TX. I can pick his brain a bit on what his files hold regarding our last two 'Rat presidents as well as a prominent future candidate for the job.

At least in Russia that’s more or less par for the course.

I don’t hold other countries to the same standard as the US....Government is not a “one size fits all” thing. What works here won’t work there, and vice versa. Heck, I don’t even know what works here, anymore.

I never in my wildest dreams thought I would like the tyrant in charge of russia better than the would-be tyrant of the US!

Yes. Too true. Or that their press would, at least for all appearances, be more free than ours.

Of course, I do remember hearing of investigative journolists going missing or getting dead over there, so it's not a lot better.

And used Jimmy Page on some early stuff, too. Pete was a decent guitarist, but not great. His greatness was in knowing his limitations and instead playing to his considerable strengths.

Love the Who, my favorite rock band of all time.

Yes, but one his lyrics that I loved in my youth now scares the hell out of me:

“We'll be fighting in the street, with our children at our feet, and the morals that we worshiped will be gone.”

Now it hits TOO close to home.

The fact Bush called him “putie put” always cracked me up. However the fact that Bush thought he could look into his soul was not amusing.
