They reported their find to the leaders of a local commune, who deployed a team to track them down.
Obama's rural council is trying to do the same with us ignernt rednecks.

Ho Van Lang and his 82-year-old father reportedly shunned contact with the outside world after his wife and two children were killed by a landmine. Can't help but feel bad for the guy... I hope he finds peace.

It looks like it was Mr. Ho, the younger man, whose wife and children died. He ran off to the jungle and took his father with him. Maybe there was nobody else to care for the father.

A party of local people who discovered them were reported to be startled by their wild appearance and outlandish gestures. I, too, amd startled by outlandish gestures.

Four decades is a long time to go without tacos and Pepsi.

I don’t think so. 4 decades ago the father would have been 40 and the son would have been a boy.

Apparently, Mr. Ho didn't have a contingency plan "B".

I thought of that. If the father was 42 and the son was 22, the son could have a wife and children. These are Vietnamese peasants, not New York lawyers.
I could be wrong, of course.
