Vlad the Impaler

The Obama administration has compromised a core U.S. interest -- the ability to take action unilaterally or with like-minded allies -- in return for Russian cooperation on second-order issues like Iran sanctions (which should be just one element of an Iran policy). Realists would never make that trade. In classic liberal fashion, Obama is constraining American power by rules and norms to which all states could be subjected.

The reason President Obama's Russia policy is on the rocks is that the White House pretends to be realist but acts like a liberal.

President Obama may think he's sent a tough message to Putin that actions have consequences, and that keeping Snowden means a cold shoulder -- but when it comes to playing the realist chess game, he's got a lot to learn from grandmaster in Moscow.

Who's afraid of Obama and the US?

NOBODY any more!

What sad commentary to go from superpower to irrelevant in a few years under Obama -- but I guess that was his goal...

Russian support for Iran cannot be very deep. Russia should be a natural ally at this point.

Realists would never make that trade.

Obama is not a realist. He's a utopian. And one who doesn't know jack about foreign policy to boot.

They should be, but in the grand game of chess known as international diplomacy, temporary limited support for Iran to gain advantage against a greater enemy is a good move.

That is a great analysis. One more snip

Instead of a Nixonian ruthlessness that presses our advantages or identifies common interests and sells off issues (and allies) of lesser importance to achieve them, the Obama administration has become a continuation of the Bush administration in Russia policy: a bossy liberal, condescendingly explaining to Moscow that if only they understood their true interests as we understand their true interests, they would adopt our policies.

Obama is very protective of .... his gay, Marxist,
Black Panther and Moslem interests.

US security? Live bee populations? — not so much.

Obama is worse than a straw man. He’s a shadow. He’s a phony, egotistic sociopath. Too bad the ‘integrity’ of America rides on his scrawny shoulders.

Detroit is America: wide open to a nuclear attack at any moment and headed by a very stupid moron that we knew nothing of before handing him the keys to the nation.

If, by some miracle performed by the God too many are eager to turn their backs on, we get through this catastrophic mess, then perhaps we’ll take steps to prevent its recurrence.

We must never forget what we’ve lost these past five years. Furthermore, our efforts should be concentrated wholly on our nation and our sphere of concern and not on wasting valuable lives and fortunes in foreign lands.

This entire central socialist government apparatus, including the courts and the bogus monetary system, must be torn down and rebuilt.
