President Obama should expand sanctions against Russian human rights violators, Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said Thursday.
The two senators issued a joint statement that said they obviously agree with Obamas decision to cancel a planned meeting next month with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
But the two said Obama should go much farther.
They called on the president to finish the last phase of a European missile defense shield thats been scrapped and push for a new round of NATO expansion to include Georgia.
Now we must move beyond symbolic acts and take the steps necessary to establish a more realistic approach to our relations with Russia, McCain and Graham said. That means demonstrating to the Russian government that there will be consequences for its continued actions that undermine American national interests.

Eventually, history will credit President Barack Obama with one positive accomplishment: he saved America from President John McCain.
The Epic Fail here is hard to miss...
Obama - "Judge me by the people with whom I surround myself."
It just seems wrong to use GOP instead of RINO when referring to Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.)
I would hope the public would change that to Retired RINO Senators, but then look what occupies the White Hut.
Curious what freeper sin you committed in post 2?
As for dim and dimmer-— cheap, empty, distracting rhetoric. Are they trying to balance their pubie ledger?
Vendome (post 18): “Whatever... dainty-minded morons..”
LOL!
Yay. Freepmail your erstwhile and appropriate snid remark.
I’m sure it was Hee Larry US.

Better they are in Russia than here screwing up the debt ceiling and immigration.
Yeah, Obama, make Putin take McCain and Graham as Russian citizens as part of any deal!
I wish; John McCain's entire history in politics has been one of being a maverick. The most likely scenario is that the more that Palin pushed, the harder McCain would have worked to promote the liberal cause. Mind you, he would have a Democrat House and Senate to work with; it would have been the 'golden age' of 'non-partisanship'. And probably kept the house in liberal control, possibly even up to this day. Though on the plus side, Palin likely would have been replaced by Graham in the 2012 re-election race. Plus as in it would have gotten Graham out of the senate, and unbundled Palin from McCain.
My post was pulled ... and I’m FR’n sick of it. Good time to take another break.
Later...
I know. I’ve taken some long breaks from here myself over the years;)
Meanwhile, Moderator, why was maggie’s post #2 pulled? Her research and posting is some of the finest on FR.
I missed it, but don’t run off Maggie! Ask what happened at least so we will know. I think people need to understand(most do) how much damage that rinos like McCain and Lindsey Graham are doing to our country and party! Conservatives are pissed! Not just here, but all over twitter and other conservative blogs! As far as I am concerned, those two have lost any accumulated due respect for their past service to our country if they are now doing the bidding of the Saudis, the Muslim Brotherhood, the progressive agenda and Obama!!
That dog don’t hunt!
What? Can you explain?
I’d like to know what’s going on with these two. Starting to look like blackmail.
bump
Just reframe it and spit it out another way....it had to be good if it got pulled!
