the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene headquarters, which cost taxpayers $316 million, is overrun by bed bugs. The building is 21 floors, and five of those are home to a bed bug infestation. Thats no shock, since the city itself has been ranked the worst in the nation when it comes to bed bugs.
This is the second time in under a year that bed bugs have been found in the facility, which is only three years old. Critics say that the city is actually underreporting the problem

Other major New York landmarks have become bed bug victims, including the Lincoln Center, the New York Public Library, the Waldorf Astoria, and the United Nations. Moskovitz urges New York visitors to check the bedding for bugs, spotting and streaks of blood.

Many seem to think it’s a laughing matter.
It’s not.
It doesn’t matter how clean you are. Bedbugs AREN’T roaches... they only want blood. It doesn’t matter if you are staying at the Ritz or the Holiday Inn.
I had them about 5 years ago. I’m not an unclean person. I lost my bed, my futon, my armchair and a nice wool carpet.
I have no idea how they found their way into my abode.
Nowadays I guess there is a method to get rid of them that heats your home up and kills them...but too late for me.
The simpliest method of ridding them....which requires man-hours....is steam-cleaning. I worked in the Pentagon for three years, and the building maintenance guy covering the bug-department was absolute about the use of steam-cleaners. So many folks would complain about funny smells and fear of chemicals....that he said it wasn’t worth the pain of using them.
As for the steam-cleaners? They’d come into an area affected, and spend a couple of hours, and it was done. A month later, you’d have another report in the same area. What they tended to see was guys using the Pentagon gym, using their gym bag, and then bringing the pests around the building via the gym bag.
I tend to think as a society....we are using fitness centers on a continual basis now, and likely helping to move the pests into our homes quiet easily. Our kids use school facilities, and use the same bags to bring the bugs home.
Fitting
Ooooh, I hate when that happens.
IDK if this is factual, but I’ve heard that putting Fabric Softener Dryer sheets between your mattress and box spring will keep bed bugs away.
Since they are inexpensive, it would be worth a try for anyone having that problem.
I think this is excellent.
All government featherbeds and offices should be infested with bedbugs, lice, fleas, cockroaches, ants, mosquitoes, scorpions, spiders and termites.
Feral coyotes would be a nice touch too.
See i knew the that moron mayor would do something to repay the voters.
Diatomaceous Earth.
Irony can be pretty ironic sometimes.
