A statement issued Tuesday says the department has ordered the departure of non-emergency U.S. government personnel from Yemen "due to the continued potential for terrorist attacks."
The travel warning says U.S. citizens currently in Yemen should depart and calls the security threat level in Yemen "extremely high."
A U.S. intelligence official and a Mideast diplomat told The Associated Press that the current shutdown was instigated by an intercepted secret message between al-Qaida chief Ayman al-Zawahri and his deputy in Yemen about plans for a major terror attack.
Britain's Foreign Office says it has evacuated all staff from its embassy in Yemen due to increased security concerns.

US military evacuates embassy staff from Yemen over terror threat, Americans urged to leave
Are they going to re-open the embassies?
If so, when, why, what criteria is being used, which ones?
If not, why?
Inquiring minds want to know
They have announced they are leaving them closed until August 10th.

Drudge:!!!!!! US Just Bombed Yemen!!!!!
Drudge:!!!!!! US Just Bombed Yemen!!!!!
Yeah I saw that about the Drone Strikes this morning on Fox and Friends.
Don’t know if I’d classify drone strikes as “bombing” Yemen.
Whenever people say bombing.. I think of like carpet bombing.
Wag The Dog....
Wow...misleading headline...
links to a drone strike.
Yep!
But the story says they’ve been conducting drone strikes there for 10 days. Business as usual? Poking at the hornets nest?
The embassies are closed to the public, but they are still manned by our personnel. Non-emergency personnel (aka non-essential) are being evacuated along with dependents. The embassies will be reopened when the security situation warrants it. We did something similar in the region during the first Gulf War. A tempest in a teapot.
From the article:.....It is UNCLEAR whether the strikes were related to the added security alert in the country after U.S. officials intercepted a message from al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri to operatives in Yemen telling them to “do something.”
Also Tuesday, the State Department urged Americans in Yemen to leave immediately, citing terrorist activities and civil unrest. All non-emergency U.S. government personnel were also told to leave.
Two U.S. military transport aircraft landed in Yemen on Tuesday to evacuate American citizens.
Time to reintroduce Argyll Law.

Well if the terror threat, which recently went out this week, and now “reporting “ these drone strikes....and evacuation by Brits as well....might mean a fair amount of esculation expected in these next days as might indicate more another war.....
We have so many battles going on where the US is involved....but none call them war except the Syrian war.
Obama’s embassy officially tucks tail and runs.
