Race Relations: A quarter-century after a black teenager falsely accused an innocent white man of rape, she has begun paying reparations for her slander. The man who rocketed to fame on her falsehoods is still at it.
If ever there was a case of racial injustice it was the case of Tawana Brawley and Steven Pagones, except the roles of victim and perpetrator were reversed in the parallel universe of the racial grievance industry. The master of that universe is Al Sharpton.
Pagones is not as well-known as George Zimmerman, nor is he likely to be now, given the media's subservience to that grievance industry. But 25 years ago the former New York prosecutor was accused of rape by Brawley, then just 15 years old.
Sharpton, the man who demanded justice for Tawana as she told her blatantly false story, is the man who now demands justice for Trayvon Martin, the teenager shot by neighborhood-watch volunteer Zimmerman, who was found not guilty of second-degree murder in what a jury ruled was legitimate self-defense.
As the New York Post reports, Tawana Brawley has finally started payment on a defamation judgment awarded Pagones. He sued Brawley and her handlers, including Sharpton, alleging the story that she was abducted and raped by a gang of white men, including Pagones, was a hoax. A grand jury, which heard from 180 witnesses over seven months, concluded in 1988 that the entire story was indeed apocryphal.

I believe the Rev settled his portion of the lawsuit long ago.
As I understand the situation, Rev.Al has no money and is ‘officially’ a legal pauper, thus he is unable to pay his legal obligations. All of his expenses are paid by his ‘friends’ and organization in a perfectly legal scheme to shield him from any responsibility. This is a designed and practiced defense to keep Rev.Al active and unencumbered, as odious as ever and a total hypocrite!
The difference being all of Obama’s associates have also done well Sharpton’s two lawyer cohorts from this escapade are outcasts of sorts. And Tawana is a hot mess.

Interesting, so now it’s presumably “all on” Tawana Brawley.
Someday she may have to admit she lied (but at Sharpton’s urging) just so she can keep some wages. I have a hunch she started the lie, but Sharpton embellished it and pushed it on the public and the media. She will have to take responsibility because Sharpton never will (even though it may come down to him saying SHE misled HIM.

The $65,000 in defamation damages ( for defaming a prosecutor) charged to Sharpton was paid two years later by certain of his supporters.
Am amazed the race mongerer got away with just a $65,000 fine of which he didn’t pay a dime personally.
At the end of the day, Sharpton is still a “charlatan, con-artist, extortionist in a sharkskin coat” (You can believe he ate the whole shark in order to get it).
Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and Ralph Nader all go to prove that you can be a lying SOB and con-artist and become great “civil rights” and “consumer” leaders even if what started their careers were total lies and hoaxes.
Gee, what a great place America is. All you need is a good “lie” and a fawning, asskissing media and you’re set for life.
I would prefer that all three do “life”. That would be a great step towards a better quality of life for all.
Yes, a group of supporters, Johnnie Cochran, et.al., settled the judgement against Sharpton.
I wanna know, how did she get to be a nurse? They said it was coming out of her nurse’s salary.
