Op-Ed: Palestine: Kerry Commits Harakiri
Arutz Sheva ^ | 5/8/13 | David Singer

US Secretary of State John Kerry has fallen on his sword in attempting to seek a renewal of negotiations designed to culminate in the creation of a new Arab State between Jordan and Israel for the first time ever in recorded history.

He has apparently learned nothing from the failed attempts of his predecessors - James Baker, Lawrence Eagleburger, Warren Christopher, Madeleine Albright, Colin Powell, Condoleezza Rice and Hillary Clinton.

Each was confident in his or her ability to persuade and cajole Israel and the PLO to do a deal - but all failed for one simple reason - both Israel and the PLO hold positions from which neither is prepared to resile.

Israel has demanded the PLO recognise Israel as the Jewish State and that any new Arab state - created as a result of negotiations - be demilitarised.

These demands are non-negotiable - since the PLO Charter - first promulgated in 1964 - does not accept the right of the Jewish people to have their own state existing alongside 22 Arab Islamic States and calls for armed struggle to eliminate the Jewish State.

The PLO demands that Israel withdraw from every square meter of the 'West Bank' and East Jerusalem - the ancient biblical heartland of the Jewish people legally sanctioned for Jewish settlement under the Mandate for Palestine and article 80 of the United Nations Charter - and that its 600000 Jewish residents be removed from their homes...

Land swaps - first suggested in 2008 - are unlikely to succeed.

The PLO demand that millions of Arabs be given the right to emigrate to Israel - threatening an end to the Jewish majority by demographic default rather than military conquest - is not one that can be accepted by Israel or foregone by the PLO.

OK. He didn't really hack his guts out with a samurai sword, but I can dream, can't I? "Reconciling these irreconcilable demands has proved to be a diplomatic graveyard for Kerry's predecessors - and so it will be for Kerry." A fitting grave for a grave embarrassment.

US Secretary of State John Kerry has fallen on his sword...

Doesn't he just usually shoot himself in the ass?

Kerry knows he is not going to succeed. This is nothing more than a distractor from the real news of the day.

I dream of a President who comes into office & says,

1) There will be no more talk of a Palestinian state period;
2) No mid-east country will receive aid until they acknowledge Israel’s right to exist and none until they ban all hate speech against Israel conducted by their mullahs & talking heads;
3) They must ACTIVELY promote peace and fellow feeling with the Jewish State (and Jews in general) to be given any kind of diplomatic status with the US;
5) And they must stop allowing any mullah to teach jihad or promote the idea of a caliphate;
6) Warn them that any country attacking Israel will be attacking the US & will be flattened as a result.

That’s MY dream!

You’ll notice that Al Haig’s name is missing from that list of fools. He was too smart for that.

OK, just a few quick thoughts:

One, I had always heard that there WAS NO such place historically as "Palestine" until the PLO decided to proclaim a specific area in its PR statements to the media and the anti-Jewish states in the area (Jordan, Libya, Syria, Saudi Arabia...) decided it was a good idea and would put even more pressure on the then-new nation of Israel and supported such a claim. Why has not John F'n Kerry ever addressed this?

Second, who in their right minds in a sane nation (other than members of congress and the senate who do so every day here) would willingly and openly allow radical arabs/islamists to establish large groups of anti-government and/or anti-nonmuslim agitators to openly arrive and set up hate-fomenting training camps in their nation?

Thirdly, videos were posted on the internet of the Palis wildly dancing in the streets and passing out candy to children in celebration of the Sept 11 terror attack on this nation, so why should we care about anything they demand?

Kerry is only doing his pretend job so he can collect a paycheck and pass himself off as a real statesman.

He wears his statesman costume and blathers in front of a camera... he thinks he’s the real deal.

BTW... when was HE ever the real deal?

Re: “The PLO demands that Israel withdraw from every square meter of the ‘West Bank’ and East Jerusalem.”

Hey, Israel won the West Bank and East Jerusalem, fair and square, in the Six Day War.

You want them back?

Come and get ‘em, Muslim dudes!
