Downers Grove business owner and West Point graduate Doug Truax (True-axe) will announce Monday morning he is seeking the Republican Partys nomination for Illinois senate seat currently held by Dick Durbin.
Dick Durbin and his crew have been in charge in Illinois and the United States for years. Their policies are not working, yet they continue to pursue them again and again as we sink deeper into economic stagnation, Truax says in an announcement video posted to Youtube.

ONLY since 1997 !!!???
That’s ten years too long already.
No senator should ever be re-elected.
I just read that article. Annoying that Erick was accosted by one of Karl Rove’s concern trolls, but from the looks of things, they’re scared sh7tless that Matt Bevin will topple Mighty Mouse Mitch. I have no doubt Cornyn is involved in a lot of this too, that swine. Where is a credible primary challenger when we need one? Last I heard, the only person who had announced was someone from the former WWF.
The GOP leaders annointed charlie crist for FL. Now the same leadership is pushing him to run as a democrat. his wife (?) is part of a heavy democrat party donor machine. (he married her for the senate race)
It is still inside the beltway vs everyone else.
The whole of IL is damn tired of the rats, it’s the nest in Chicago/Cook County that drives this entire state.
I honestly think having punk a** Rahm as mayor, has revved people up as the little ballerina continues to impose more and more of his heavy hand. There are people I know who bitch and complain about this and that, but until recently, hadn’t had those things impact them directly (other than our property taxes in CC) - well, so many things have gone up with Rahm at the helm, he’s awoken many.
Add that light weight moron Quinn and honestly, I don’t anyone who is willing to listen to a Madigan backed pol these days.
I’ll keep my eyes on this one, if he gets rolling, I intend to get involved and make it happen. Freakin Durbin is honestly THE dumbest member of the Senate, ever. And that is saying alot, as he has some stiff competition. I’ve known people who worked directly with him and the word has been said over and over - dumber than a box of rocks.
this is why national seats should be awarded in a “each county counts as one vote” system. The winner of a majority of those counties wins the national seat in that state.
Thuse the chicago area still has thier individual house rep, but the sentator is more beholding to the ENTIRE state.
One County ONE vote.
It’s insane, ain’t it? The Democrats rule from these city state hellholes packed with urban crawlers and libtard art students.
No way. Patty Murray is in the senate. She is quite literally a lobotomy case.
Yeah, the only guy I heard about so far running against Cornyn is a guy named Wyatt. Don’t know if that’s who you’re referring to.
I’d like to see Cornyn removed. He’s the minority whip. If McConnell is removed, he’s the odds on favorite to be the republican leader, and we’ll get more of the same from the Arlen Specter and Charlie Crist endosing Cornyn!
I don’t know how he’s getting by. Is he pulling Lamar Alexander tricks to ward of potential challengers?
The guy is a 100% fraud, and if Matt Bevin replaces McConnell, I DO NOT WANT Cornyn as the leader. There’s a thick layer of crap that needs to be wiped away before you get to real leaders under the leadership. Cornyn is the cream of the crap. Linseed and McLame are the nutty chunks.

These people know how to figure out who may run against them and undermine them, pay them off, etc. And the donors intentionally scare off opponents with the constant stories of the size of incumbents war-chests.
It is only in a groundswell that we seem to be able to remove incumbents, as we did with Bennett, Lugar, and even Murkowski (though she stayed in by running as an independent). Hatch and McCain kept their seats because they pretended to be consevatives till they were safely reelected. Cornyn will follow that path. Although he’s in a bind because he signed Mike Lee’s letter then unsigned it from pressure probably from McConnell and the other statists. That’ll make him look like the unprincipled man that he is.

Chad Koppie, a conservative Republican, announced, last Jan., that he’ll run for the U.S. Senate in 2014. I’m Chad’s campaign manager. At least 10 websites mentioned Chad’s campaign, for at least the past 6.5 months. Since Jan. 19, Chad gave speeches to meetings of the Illinois Center Right Coalition, Chicago Tea Party, Arlington Heights Tea Party, and Springfield Tea Party.
Chad is the only Republican, in that race, who has held an elected office, other than precinct committeeman. He’s a member of the Kane Co. Regional Board of Schools, and he was a township trustee and school board member. In the 1998 governor primary, he was the only conservative candidate. He’s pro-tax cuts, pro-spending cuts, pro-life, pro-gun rights, anti-Obamacare, and anti-illegal alien. Truax said that he doesn’t want to defund Obamacare.
Chad needs many people to volunteer and/or doante to his campaign. Please read his site, www.chadkoppieforillinois.com.
Fitzgerald was being targeted in the primary because he wasn’t corrupt enough for the state party’s taste, that’s why he dropped out, they stabbed him in the back (and it was because he wasn’t corrupt not cause he was too conservative). I think he would have had a 50/50 shot against Osama in the general election if the party got behind him. Bush got 44.5% in IL against Kerry that year, Fitz would have needed to run about 5 points or so ahead of him, against the Chicago commie with the weird name? Very doable.
The replacement candidate Jack Ryan sounded pretty good until the stupid sex scandal involving his own ex-wife (actress Jeri Ryan) and illegally released divorce records. State party didn’t even try to help him. Then they nominated a bombastic hard core conservative from ANOTHER STATE and when he lost in a landslide like they wanted they said “see a conservative can’t win here”.
Thank you Illinois Combine! That’s who gave us Obama, the Illinois Republican party!
The US Supreme court struck down the county unit system decades ago.
Koppie sounds like a fine man and I wish you luck with the campaign.
But he’s the picture of a sacrificial lamb, he’ll never win a statewide office here. Guys like him never win. His record running for higher office

I’d at least like to find a candidate that has the potential to win if it comes out that Durban gave nuclear secrets to Iranian hookers or something and the race becomes competitive.
So Truax. This is the first I heard his name.
This is what he says on Obamacare

Phil, I didn’t hear him says he was against defunding it, in fact I didn’t hear much substance at all. If he’s not 100% against it then he can go lick a llama’s butt.
Chad is more likely to win, compared to Doug. The last time that Chad ran, statewide, he didn’t expect to win, since he ran for the Constitution Party.
We shouldn’t nominate a rich man who has never run for office. Someone like that won the primary in 2004. He dropped out of the race, helping Barack Obama win and become president. In 2008, a rich man who had never run for office won the U.S. Senate primary. In the general election, that Republican got 29%.
We should nominate a conservative who has political experience. I emailed Doug Truax, and I asked for his views on abortion, guns, and immigration. I haven’t received a response.
Problem is, Phil, if our candidate isn’t independently wealthy, you can just about write them off. Even if they won the primary, they’d be desultory opposition in the general. It reminds me of FR’s own late “Congressman Billybob.” He announced he was running for Congress from NC back around 2006 or so and I told him if he didn’t have at least a million in the bank, he could forget about it. For statewide in IL, you’re going to need $10 million just as a base amount.
