House Republicans feel summer recess heat on immigration
FOX News ^ | Aug 3, 2013

House Republicans are facing heavy pressure from both sides of the immigration debate as they return to their home districts for August recess with no clear indication as to how they’ll vote on the issue.

The decision to pass comprehensive immigration reform has essentially been in the hands of the Republican-controlled House since the Democrat-led Senate passed such a bill in June.

House Republicans were under pressure before they even left their Capitol Hill offices to start the five-week recess, which is traditionally dedicated to face-to-face talks with hometown voters.

The American Federation of Government Employees sent a letter Tuesday to House lawmakers urging them not to work with senators on their “dangerous” bill.

Among the major concerns is that U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services is not equipped to process the potential onslaught of new applications.

Another is that the Obama administration might implement immigration law passed by Congress “in a fashion of its own choosing,” considering that it bypassed Congress last summer by stopping the deportation of young, law-abiding immigrants brought to the United States illegally by their parents or others, the union letter suggests.

The Senate bill includes billions of dollars for border security, new workplace enforcement requirements, a revamped legal immigration system and a path to citizenship for the estimated 11 million immigrants living in the country illegally.

Many House Republicans oppose granting citizenship to people who crossed the border illegally or overstayed their visas. And GOP leaders have already rejected the Senate bill, instead proceeding with narrow, single-issue bills, starting with border security.

House Speaker John Boehner has said he wants a vote on immigration reform.

1. Every Republican Senator that voted for it, should already be getting a challenger if they’re up for re-election.

2. If any Republican Rep even shows a hint of anything short of border security and nothing else, than at least one person in that townhall meeting should announce their candidacy on the spot in that room. And start collecting signatures.

Its coming out now that the tech industry is really pushing for this bill so they can get cheap labor for their companies with the H1B visas. I’d love to go up to all the obama-loving college kids and tell them how they’ll all be living in their parents basements for years to come, since all their jobs will be taken up by kids from Pakistan and India.

Oh, the law of unintended consequences when they pulled the lever for that moron and his ilk.

There is something else Republicans can do. Hang it around Obama and the Democrats neck. There is an immigration law and Obama and the Democrats chose to ignore it. There is funding and plans for a border fence and ways in which immigrants are granted citizenship.

Force a reset. A new immigration bill will be written and brought to the floor when the existing law that Obama circumvented goes back to before Obama used executive fiat.

Then hold a huge press conference announcing the new immigration law, which is the existing one.

The Republicans who support the amnesty are going to have to live with the anger for decades after they lose a primary.

They have to explain why they created an incremental increase in illegal aliens which means additional Americans killed.

OKA... there is a side that might vote for you and a side that won't vote for you in a million years even if you give them everything they want....

John Boehner is another capitulating GOP congressional moderate, and sadly from the midwest. Haven’t we had enough of these sellouts over the years? From Illinois we got Everett Dirksen and Bob Michel. Michigan gave us Jerry Ford. Kansas gave us Bob Dole. All of these men were leaders in the house and senate and they did nothing but bargain and capitulate over and over again to the Democratic Party. The Democrats are destroying America and our guys are just standing around doing nothing and fearing any negative publicity if they push too hard against the Dems. Enough already. We need to push the moderates out of the GOP or exit the party once and for all. It’s time to put up or shut up for our side.

Boehner does not have a moderate position on immigration.

Steve King and Jeff Sessions are the moderates.

Ryan and Boehner comes from a cheap labor extremist position.

I think that is the most favorable spin you can put on their position and its motivation (and it is not very favorable to begin with).

I am just cynical enough, to think that pressure=cave in. I hope not, but they have priors.

No Bill must be allowed to leave the House, it will be taken up in committee by the Senate and House and transformed back into the Senate Bill.

If Republican Congressmen and Senators spend their vacation time listening to AVERAGE CITIZENS, they’ll hear how hard it is to find a job today in America; how much trouble their constituents are having paying their bills; they’ll hear about rising gasoline prices, rising insurance rates, and other serious problems resulting from struggling to make it through one of the worst economic recoveries in American history.

Republican elected officials will get an earful when they go home. But they won’t hear much about immigration reform, which ranks about twentieth on the average American’s list of priorities. It should go without saying that the average American does NOT WANT 11 million new immigrants competing with them for jobs.

One the other hand, if Republican Congressmen and Senators spend their vacation time talking with businessmen and wealthy campaign donors, they’re likely to hear a lot about immigration reform — all favorable because of the cheap labor such reform would bring to businesses.

So, when Congress reconvenes, we’ll see by each Republican’s immigration-reform vote whose interests he cares about more — those of his average struggling constituents or of the wealthy business people/campaign donors in his district.

I’m right there with you. Except for a few conservative Tea Party types, the GOP-e RINO herd has just about killed off any semblance of Reagan conservatism remaining in the Republican party. McCain, McConnell, McGramnesty, McRove, McRomney, McBoner, et al, have killed the party.

Our tolerance for debt-based welfare to immigrants is equal to our tolerance for the debt that we are willing to pass onto our children and grandchildren.

Reduce our tolerance for debt-based Federal Programs, and our tolerance for immigration will also be reduced.

_____________

Our Southern Border is under the control of Mexican Drug Gangs. An illegal attempt by AG Holder to challenge their grip failed with Fast and Furious.

Obama has allowed INS officials to increase the number of “got-aways” and to decrease the number of illegal alien invaders actually caught.

Gullible News outlets, such as The Wall Street Journal routinely run articles quoting Obamanation statistics that numbers of captured illegal alien invaders are down, and thus there is no such thing as the surge of illegal alien invaders from Mexico and other Southern Hemisphere Socialist Countries.

Most News outlets refuse to come to our Southern Border to document their obviously false assertions.

Most State Politicians cower when our sorry NINE SUPREMES dictate that the State has no authority to protect itself from illegal alien invaders.

As long as THE NINE SUPREMES have 4 Socialist Judges, there will always be a high risk that some gullible Judge from the Majority will cross over to the dark side and continue the destruction of our US Constitution as the signature accomplishment of the US Welfare State. Traitor John Roberts’ support of Obama’care’ is the most horrific example.

Thus, it is incumbent upon those of us who still value the US Constitution to oppose the dark side, what we now call Obamanation.

________________________

The purpose of passing a Federal “reform” immigration bill this year is to allow illegal alien invaders from Mexico, and other Central and South American Socialist Countries, to vote for Socialist-Democrats and appeasing RINOs in the 2014 and 2016 USA National Elections for more debt-generating welfare to future illegal alien invaders to become future Socialist-Democrat voters.

These future Socialist-Democrat voters should be called “McCain-Rubio Democrats,” as no other Senators have done more to encourage gullible RINOs to appease and otherwise cave-in to debt-dependent Democrats than these two sorry RINO Senators.

Stand your ground, FReepers! Raise the Gadsden Battle Flag!

It is us against the gullible supporters of Obamanation!

For example:

While Rubio and his Eight Senate Gangsters put out political smoke and mirrors to “get a bill passed this year,” nothing they have said will change the basic problem of aliens illegally invading the USA.

The Basic Problem: Illegal aliens invade the USA for Welfare and Wages.

Solutions that address the Basic Problem:

1.) End the Anchor Baby Law.

2.) End the Hospital Emergency Room No Payment Law (EMTALA).

3.) End ANY other Welfare to Aliens.

4.) Fine US employers $1,000 per day per employee who is an alien.

5.) Spend NO money on “securing the border.” It is a bottomless money pit.

6.) Spend money on Chainlink/ Concertina wire desert prisons for the EXISTING Federal Law for a mandatory 6 month imprisonment for repeat offenders who have invaded our Country more than once.

7.) Transfer Border Invasion Enforcement to the US National Guard in each State, and thus under the control of the Governor of each State. The less Federal involvement, the better.

8.) Repeal all State and Federal Laws that prohibit voter officials and Police from requesting proof of US Citizenship for any reason what so ever.

9.) Be as hostile to all illegal alien invaders as we should be to all Federal politicians and Federal Judges who vote for or support another Ted Kennedy-style amnesty bill with no significant Federal enforcement.

Contact your local TEA Party, and plan to kick the sorry RINOs and even sorrier Democrats out of Congress in 2014!

It is all about the money FReepers, YOUR tax money.

I wonder how many "town hall meetings" the pubbies will have, if any. The ones they do have will probably be heavily scripted with handlers, like the ones run by their friends the DemocRATs. Maybe some SEIU goons will be available to help out.

What pressure? Either stop this madness or lose your conservative base. This should not be a hard decision to make.
