It feels like House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa has spent half of his tenure trying to pry improperly redacted information out of The Most Transparent Administration, Evah‘s obfuscating death grip. Fortunately, however, it’s a role from which Chairman Issa does not shy. At a hearing this morning with acting IRS commissioner Danny Werfel, Issa grilled Werfel on the omitted documents he feels the IRS is slow-rolling the Committee on turning over, as well as the heavily redacted ones they have turned over — finally prompting Issa to assert the the agency has left him no choice but to issue a subpoena. “You’d better hope — you’d better really hope — that we don’t find something there that clearly should not have been redacted, which we expect we will.” NRO picked it up:

This isn't news to the liberal big news media but zimmerman speeding and ‘gasp” having a gun in his car is national news.
I’m beginning to think that Congress should have the authority to appoint a special prosecutor or at the very least, have a means of bringing charges to be prosecuted outside of the US Attorney’s office.
If Issa isn’t filthy dirty then he is simply weak. The House leadership is weak. They talk and talk, and whine and whine. It’s all they do Ping me when the House has the balls to make the Ubama mob suffer genuine consequences for its lawlessness. Ping me when they actually DO something.
The media has absoulute power.
If this were a Republican president with all these scandals how long do you think the media would take to run him out of office?
Just the IRS hearings would be on tv 24/7 if this were Bush or a Republican president. watergate hearings were on all tv networks 24/7 . now the media ignores the IRS hearings and other scandals,Amnesty bill. the majority of people haven’t even heard of any of this. but the news media makes George Zimmerman speeding national news. we are living in the matrix. you blame Republicans of course though

I hope the Repubs are learning how to do this when a Dem Congress investigates a Repub administration.
You know, all these tongue lashing strikes me as something so weak and mild that they do nothing to act as a deterrent to lying or breaking the law.
If all they’re going to get is “You’ve been a very bad boy/girl”, then all these hearings will only be for show. nothing more.
The question is this -— DOES CONGRESS (e.g. ISSA ) HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO PUNISH THESE LIARS AND LAW BREAKERS?
If not, they end up like Charlie Rangel -— a censure and then they move on (laughing inside and giving everyone the finger ).
Yup - Contempt of Congress - frogmarched to jail. Barry would have to use his pardon powers, which is no problem. Wonderful street theatre while my country goes down the chute!

So? Issa makes a referral to Holder's DOJ and that will be the end of it. Obama has dramatically shown just how powerless the Congress is under present leadership. Issa would need to start arresting Administration witnesses and holding them in the Capitol jail or actually get the House to defund agencies like the IRS until they cooperate in order to make any real attempt to stop this lawless Regime.
And then state : " At this point , what difference does it make .."
I'm 100% with you in spirit on the overall issue, but hyperbole like this diminishes the argument.
Hearings, schmearings—People need to start losing their jobs and going to jail.
The drum beat would be daily and relentless.

My point is that a strong GOP leadership would DO something. I dunno... For example:
"Mr. President, there will be no further discussions about the debt ceiling, and there will be no continuing resolutions, and there will be no further legislation debated in the House until your administration complies with the requests of our committees for the information they need to properly investigate the corruption, lawlessness, and numerous scandals surrounding your administration. Thank you."

Demands and impeachment are not remedies for a coup...............that would be like trying to cure cancer with Vaporub.
There can only be two reasons why Barry and holder haven’t been 1mpeached or 1mprisoned already. Every member of the house and senate can be blackmailed, or they’re all afraid Barry’s sons and holder’s people would go ape Shiite and burn down every city.
