of course not. foolish people do foolish things. They read foolish agendas into the simplest of things. Everyone can find something to harp on. If it brings the press, all the better.
I also grew up in the South during the 50’s and 60’s and only heard the term “brown bag” used for carrying liquor into a private club in a dry county.
Perhaps using a brown bag to appraise skin color was something done in northern liberal households.
