Good analogy, and I think it works because with amnesty people can intuitively understand how “just letting it happen” could be bad for them personally.
Healthcare is different. Most folks at any given moment are pretty healthy. It’s not intuitively obvious how bad this is going to be for individuals when they are the one caught in the nightmare bureaucratic web of death this system will create. But by then it will be too late for them as individuals.
That, BTW, was the masterstroke of genius in Palin calling out the “death panels.” It was a brilliantly creative way to give ordinary people the power to see the ugly future of life under Obamacare. Which of course is why it was so severely criticized and ridiculed by the Regime. Never underestimate the power of words. Churchill one said that he who has the power of the spoken word has the equivalent of armies under his command. Palin gets this. Cruz gets this. A few others. We need more like them.

It will play out with the rats getting obamacare funded and every other penny of the communist central command government’s spending that obama wants. According to Mark Levin, you attach a defunding amendment to any budget limit increase and allow obama to veto it and then nothing gets funded until obama capitulates or leaves office. This would take republicans calling dims liars and thieves and explaining the games that they play and how horrible obamacare is and will be and how much damage it will do to every working American family... which is why I say nothing will happen but obama and the communists getting everything that they want and then some.

It is a historical example of the exception that proves the rule.
When something fails spectacularly after a long long time of criticism and opposition, the imbeciles proposing the thing simply shrug and mumble, "We meant well." Then walk away.
When a spectacularly inept and incompetent law is opposed continuously for years because it can't possibly work, when it finally collapses the opponents can proudly claim, "We knew it all along. Good riddance."

Those amendments are not universally celebrated as "brilliant."
In fact, it can be argued that they triggered the inevitable decline of the truly brilliant checks and balanced government that created the successful United States of America.
Obamacare will need much more rational justification than those! Few celebrate the impending transformation of a nation of Citizens into a Nation of Subjects.
