Gingrich: Christie and the GOP Establishment are hysterical [Laura Ingraham show]
http://www.lauraingraham.com/b/Daily-Fix:-Gingrich:-Christie-and-the-GOP-Establishment-are-hysterica ^ | 8/1/2013 | Laura Ingraham Show

Speaker Newt Gingrich, former speaker of the House and former presidential candidate, weighed in on Sen. Ted Cruz's plan to threaten a government shutdown in order to defund Obamacare: "My advice to the Republicans [...] is to spend the next 60 days focusing on what a disaster [ObamaCare] is," gathering together "every possible horror story and weaving them into a clear and understandable story." Gingrich predicts that if the people are inundated with these truths, people will "start to melt" on their support of ObamaCare. He also discussed the recent rift between Gov. Christie and Sen. Paul. His perspective is that Christie represents simply the first of, what will soon be, many more GOP establishment reactionaries. Gingrich explained that "the Republican establishment will grow more hysterical the more powerful Rand Paul and Ted Cruz become." He believes that Republicans are reacting to Paul and Cruz because they are "among the few people willing to raise the right questions. You may not agree with their answers, but at least they have courage." free audio at link ...

Newt has a record of moving the political football toward the conservative goalpost. I like Newt.

The GOP should listen to Newt, he is smarter than most if not all of them with the exception of a very few. But the GOPe despises him. Too bad. He was a far better candidate than Romney and I don’t care how many wives he had.

Cruz/Paul over the GOPe

Works for me. GOPe wants our money and our votes, but not our principles.

I don't trust Newt, but I wholeheartedly agree with him on this one:

"My advice to the Republicans [...] is to spend the next 60 days focusing on what a disaster [ObamaCare] is," gathering together "every possible horror story and weaving them into a clear and understandable story."

Then Newt is good he is very very good, but then Newt is bad (as he often is) he is very very bad. Newt is a double edged sword. But at the moment, he is scoring hits, so yeah “Go Newt”.

Newt vs Obama would have been a good one. Too bad we don't have a say in who the Republican Party nominates.

When Newt is good he is very very good, but when Newt is bad (as he often is) he is very very bad.

Now where have I heard that before .....

Newt was well on his way to being nominated by the GOP and then he stepped on the Illegal Immigrant Amnesty pile and the grass roots walked away. Romney for all his failing was good on illegal immigration, probably lying, but he was talking the talk “let them self deport”. Perry also stepped in it and dropped like a rock in the polls.

Yes but I have an almost 15 year posting history here, which I am certain contains more then a few instances where I used that phrase. Oh and before that a 5 year history on usenet news. Where I almost certainly used the phrase. Too bad we don't have a good search engine here at FR (Lucene anyone?). I would love to see us get one. I've missed out on a zillion "I told you so" for lack of one.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. (American poet, 1807-1882)
There was a little girl, who had a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead,
And when she was good, she was very, very good,
But when she was bad she was horrid.

I would being willing to bet I would agree with 85% of it. I tend not to buy political books since the shelf life is rather short. I buy history, math and physic books, since that is where my interests lie. I do enjoy a good sci fi every now and then. Also I do most of my reading in the winter since there is little else to do then.

This book will stun you. It puts 20 years of history into perspective - and it is literally pertinent to every issue today.....if you disagree...I’d be willing to donate 5X cost of book to your fave charity!!!

Ask SOTC if this is not correct?
