I thought those flags were made out of foil. Why would we use nylon??? Now the French can claim they were first to land a man on the Moon! j/k

Considering what is happening to America today, there is a certain poignant symbolism to this...

They were normal cloth held upright by aluminum wires. It’s our equipment left behind that will prove we landed there first and not the French.

White American flags.
Jackson and Sharpton soon to claim this as further proof of racism in America.

Somewhere Al Sharpton is howling at the moon.

At least the structure of the flags should still be evident. The stripes should be sewn together, and the stars would have been embroidered. As long as they aren’t disintegrating, they should still be recognizable even without the color.

It is ironic to me. Obama has surrendered nearly every freedom we have to socialist fascist ideology and we get this story where Old Glory on the Moon has turned to the white flag.

The original Apollo flags cost NASA $5.50 and made of nylon by Annin Flagmakers.A galllon of gasoline cost $0.35 in 1969 -- but with gov't bidding processes it's something of a surprise that they didn't cost $550,000.00 each even back then.

The original Apollo flags cost NASA $5.50 and made of nylon by Annin Flagmakers. We should get our money back.

Are the flags on Mars that Sheila Jackson Lee had placed there turning white too?
You know Sheila, the brilliant Queen of the CBC who will soon be head of Homeland Security.

This reminds me of what I overheard after Neil Armstrong had passed away and some people were looking at a cartoon of a flag on the moon being at half-staff. One girl asked, “When did they go up there to lower it?”

The only thing that really matters is that the names of all four brave men who made the first trip are remembered and embossed onto a material that will stand the test of time and give credit to those who really deserve it.

If they are made of nylon, what keeps it "waving" on the windless moon?
