Elliott Bronstein is an example of a public official who is way overpaid and spends the taxpayer dollar thinking about trivialities.

According to the memo, people should try ... or "sack lunch."I am VERY offended, and find this term to be sexist, ageist, and LOOKIST!!!
Just as many of those lunches are made by old geezers as are made by old bags/old sacks.
I'll have you know, I brown-bagged it for years, you little twit! I hadn't even met, let alone married, my old sack, when I started making my own lunches for school, and later, for work. AND I KEPT MAKING THEM! I only eat sack lunches when I'm home, and she fixes us something!
People like you don't go around saying "geezer lunch", do they, Sonny? "Sack lunch" implies that I am an old sack, when, in point of fact, I am a geezer, and proud of it!

When I was working at the Kennedy Space Center, a memo came out on ‘offensive’ phrases to be avoided. The one that sticks in my menory is “flip chart”. Now obsoleted by Power Point, in the 80’s it was a part of nearly every meeting. I don't remember what the recommended alternative was, but I do remember the reason “flip chart” was proscribed.... It could be offensive to Filipinos. No joke.

Sack also can refer to a part of the male anatomy...Hence, further offensive to womyn who could not bring a sack to the sack lunch, and therefore would feel excluded.

After 40 plus years of world travel I am lucky enough to speak a few different languages and the local slang variants where I lived, worked or was stationed and deployed......
Pride myself on the ability to cuss and throw traffic circle / jungle verbiage all over the world in fine fashion as a representive of my great state of Texas !
This little web site linked here is very very close to perfection in the fine art of cussin and swearin bad people all over the world that deserve such.....Seattle polidiots included.

"Luckily, we've got options," Elliott Bronstein of the Office for Civil Rights wrote in the memo. "For 'citizens,' how about 'residents?'" Bronstein wrote. So, this pompous twit wishes to decitizenize people, just because not all citizens are United States citizens? Just because some people they serve are non-American citizen U.S. residents, (legal or otherwise) he wants to strip them of the dignity of their citizenship status, in whichever nation that vests, making U.S./Seattle residency superior to their own home-country citizenship? How dare he be so insensitive and elitist!?!

They are scouring the state for copies of the video of ‘Citizen Kane’ and putting a ‘Resident’ sticker over the offending word.
