Wealthy gay dad, Barrie Drewitt-Barlow, says he and his civil partner Tony will go to court to force churches to host gay weddings.
He told the Essex Chronicle that he will take legal action because “I am still not getting what I want”.
A Government Bill legalising gay marriage passed Parliament recently but it included measures to protect churches from being forced to perform same-sex weddings.
Challenge
Mr Drewitt-Barlow said: “The only way forward for us now is to make a challenge in the courts against the church.
“It is a shame that we are forced to take Christians into a court to get them to recognise us.”
He added: “It upsets me because I want it so much – a big lavish ceremony, the whole works.....
The gay couple shot to fame in 1999 when they became the first British same-sex couple to be named on their children’s birth certificates.
Last year the Church of England warned that the Government’s plans to redefine marriage could trigger legal problems and end the 500-year link between church and state.

Simple solution here....any clergyman,or church,that wishes not to perform marriages recognized by the state should officially and fully renounce their powers to perform such marriages and that,in future,he/she/they will only perform a purely religious ceremony to “bless” a union.All couples would then be advised to go elsewhere to arrange a ceremony that’s recognized by “man”.Of course pervert couples would be denied the religious ceremony by the church in question and there wouldn’t be a thing the government could do.

These people are like two-year-olds throwing tantrums. “I didn’t get what I want!” What other people “want” just doesn’t matter.
Why do they even want Christians to recognize them, anyway? Christians’ Bible says homosexuality is wrong. So instead of forcing themselves where they’re not wanted, why don’t gays come up with their own ceremony? They can call it “garriage.” They can have their own version of “churches,” where they ordain people to perform their “weddings.”
But no, that won’t do because it’s all about forcing Christians to say, “You’re okay, you’re normal.”
Coming here next....And our lawless, unrepresentative judiciary is very likely to veto the First Amendment and close the churches that fail to comply. Keep your powder dry.....
I agree. At most churches you can’t just walk in off the street and demand to be baptized, for instance. The church will make you take a class where they teach you what they believe, and you usually have to be a member of the church and give a testimony that you are a believer, etc. Well, the same could be true with marriage. They could call it “holy matrimony,” since the word “marriage” now includes gays. Churches could refuse to perform holy matrimony until a couple joins the church, takes the classes, and has a testimony.
Activist, open homosexuals are psychopatholigically selfish individuals. They will tear down the entire World to get their way, like a 3-year-old.
I’m sure they would have been very accommodating at the mosque.

What kind of recognition is it they want? Does he think we can be forced to say they are “normal”? So what if we do? He still knows he isn’t.
I look forward to the day some member of the gay community stands before God and attempts to tell Him He was wrong. That is going to be fun to watch.

Resplendent in matching outfits of cream silk, who could blame the multi-millionaire couple for showing off two of their three beautiful children, seven-year-olds Saffron and Aspen? After all, as Barrie told the Mail this week, ‘it’s a site used by many of our friends as a way to share information’.
No doubt it is, but a few moments trawling through the pages of Gaydar.com reveals that much of that ‘information’ and many of the accompanying images jar horribly with pictures of children. ‘Horny Fun Wanted’ proclaims one typical advertiser on the gay dating site, displaying a full frontal nude picture of himself for the delectation of passing browsers. Others express preferences for all kinds of unprintable activities.
Users are, disturbingly, asked to click a box to say whether they prefer safe sex. Every vital statistic is listed; often with eye-watering full-colour evidence. There is also a profusion of links to male escort agencies and hardcore gay porn sites.
Despite widespread condemnation from bodies such as children’s charity Kidscape, which described it as ‘asking for trouble’, the couple has insisted on keeping the children’s photographs posted.
Their own, relatively tame details on the site reveal a preference for ‘firemen, footballers, married men, military...and rugby players’, alongside a fetish for Speedo swimming trunks and suits.
Barrie, 37, and Tony, 42, are somewhat less open about their ages, which they claim to be 32. One suspects it is drama queen Barrie rather than the more taciturn Tony doing the talking when they inform potential new contacts: ‘Willing to try anything once!’ ‘Just looking for friends, no big deals, no tears, just loads of laughs and loads a fun!! Whatever, no camp guys, please. We don’t do camp guys well at all.’
The Drewitt-Barlows, as they style themselves, dismiss criticism as just another example of the homophobic media over-reacting.
