A Trayvon Martin fashion statement [parents/Crump want more $$$]
New Pittsburgh Courier ^ | Aug 1, 2013 | William Reed

(NNPA)—Do you feel George Zimmerman is “a racist?” Make a fashion statement to let the world know how you feel. The issue of “race in America” was clearly illustrated in the attention African-Americans paid to the Zimmerman trial. Nowadays, Black Americans are no longer asking, rather, they’re demanding “Justice for Trayvon Martin.”

If Zimmerman thought he’d live out his days as a happy camper, he’s sadly mistaken. The “Justice for Trayvon Martin” campaign has morphed into an enterprise that’s not going anywhere, anytime soon, especially if Parks & Crump, attorneys at law, have any say in the matter. Parks & Crump, which specializes in personal injury cases, happens to be one of the nation’s top Black law firms. Expert in law and civil rights, the firm is the reason that [Trayvon] was packing a bag of Skittles and a can of Arizona Iced Tea sticks in your mind.

Partners Darryl Parks and Benjamin Crump have been the most visible of the firm’s six-member team. Thanks largely to Crump’s legal position and activist efforts, the Martin case has prompted a flurry of marches and rallies around the nation, merited comment from President Barack Obama and garnered the attention of the U.S. Department of Justice.

The Parks & Crump camp helped to create a “Justice for Trayvon” industry consisting of protest paraphernalia that includes hoodies, sweatshirts and bumper stickers. The law firm proved to be instrumental in establishing the Trayvon Martin Foundation, with donations totaling an estimated $5 million.

Crump is a principal with the Tallahassee-based firm. He was initially contacted by Tracy Martin’s cousin. His cousin, a Miami attorney, happened to be familiar with Crump’s civil rights work in Florida. The firm is headquartered in the state capital, and Crump is well connected and has been recognized by the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund for his “enduring pursuit of justice.” The firm’s receipts from both city and state wrongful death lawsuits exceed $10 million.

Crump also collaborates with Orlando attorney Natalie Jackson. Crump and Jackson hired media communications expert Ryan Julison, to make sure that their strategy worked and the word got out. Then, they staged news conferences in which Trayvon’s parents talked about their loss. Florida media outlets began to notice. Shortly thereafter, they contacted Rep. Corrine Brown, D-Fla., to help convince authorities to release 911 tapes—recordings that brought the case to the attention of the national media. The team applied pressure on authorities by organizing a series of rallies and worked with national civil rights figures such as Al Sharpton. Both Sharpton and Jesse Jackson were the first to arrive in Sanford to participate in various rallies and meetings.

As the case against Zimmerman moves from one court to another, Trayvon’s family members say they need financial assistance to ensure that justice is served. They’ve been directing donations toward a criminal justice advocacy foundation in the deceased teenager’s name.

The Trayvon Martin Foundation was established to keep this issue alive. It’s the vehicle through which Trayvon’s parents and their attorneys travel and work to create awareness of how violent crime impacts families of victims, and to provide support for the bereaved families. The foundation seeks to advocate that crime victims and their families not be ignored in the discussions about violent crimes, to increase public awareness of all forms of racial, ethnic and gender profiling and educate youth on conflict resolution techniques.

Zimmerman’s acquittal has sparked protests throughout the country. If you move from spectator to protester, you too, can make a fashion or activist statement when you purchase a hoodie, sweatshirt or sticker to demand “Justice for Trayvon.” The cost of protesting isn’t cheap. The movement has enough “money to move the case forward” but sales of campaign materials and receipts are vital. Analysts say it will cost “at least $5 million” at each rung to move the case up the legal ladder. To make donations to move this case forward, contact: trayvonmartinfoundation.org.

So they need $5m for a wrongful death civil suit that will likely be tossed before it starts when GZ gets immunity?

The whole scam of subverting the Florida justice system is laid out in this article - but not in an attempt to expose...just the opposite: to credit the scam artists for their deeds and justify/solicit further donations.

It looks as though the negro community has forgotten that they, along with the homosexuals, are a minority. Things have gotten so bad and the injustices against the majority piled so high that the regime that replaces this one may last quite a long time.

In that case it would appear that this grinning imbecile of a phony president may have regressed the negro to a point where the advances may never be regained in several lifetimes.

If you’re not a part of the solution, there’s good money to be made in prolonging the problem.

Name the analysts who place this exorbitant price tag on the process.

Only the dumbest people could not recognize this profiteering. The Venn Diagram of "dumbest people" and "Trayvon supporters" has a lot of crossover, though.

The racial parasite who call themselves the martins will feed off their own as much as they can.

That is what racial parasites do, and their victims will help them in that feeding as much as they possible can, because they are just that damn stupid.

Who didn't see that coming.

Next these money hungry parents will be asking for $10M to help the DOJ do their investigation.

Can a street thug make 5 mil in a lifetime?
He had liver damage by drinking “lean” anyways so it was likely he was going to die or at least need a new liver by age 30.

Anyone truly wanting “Justice for Trayvon” should know that the dead can’t be prosecuted for their crimes.

The article above doesn't touch on it, unfortunately, but (correct me if I'm wrong) foundations can have "officers" on the payroll for no-limits salary and travel, etc. expenses connected with the work of the organization.

It's one of today's slickest rackets. Obama's half-brother started the tax-exempt "Barack H. Obama Foundation" based in Kenya and Virginia to "build homes for widows and orphans" in Africa. There's not a shred of evidence that one single such home has been built...but the Obama bro is evidently making a good living off the foundation as he flies hither and yon on behalf of his milk-cow, using Baraq's name and undoubtedly his political donor list to keep feeding the cow.

The Martin couple will also live high off the cow as they unceasingly bombard us with white-guilt rhetoric, sob stories and hate-America propaganda as long as they can successfully milk their foundation cash-cow to finance their always-on-the-go, lucrative life-style of speaking engagements and public appearances for profit.

Left-wing foundations have a tendency to hang around for a long-time before they are dissolved, so we can expect no relief from the barrages of the Martins and their ilk before they reluctantly are forced to moo-ve on to greener pastures.

The race baiters are out in force...smalling green blood in the water and they, being the flim-flam men they are, the frauds , scheisters, and hustlers they are, want to make a killing off of it.

Sadly, they probably will, and will further divide the country in the process...which just further enables them in their wretched trade.

The simple truth however is out there, and not hard to find.

Trayvon Martin made a conscience decision to assault George Zimmerman. Apparently because he did not like the way Zimmerman was looking at him. He broke his nose, knocked him to the ground, and then climbed on top and was pummeling Zimmerman. Zimerman had the injuries and the scuff marks consistant with that.

Trayvon Martin had the bruises to his knuckles and scuff marks on his knees consistant with his part in the assault. His only other injury was a single bullte wound, shot at close range and the bullet traveling up through his chest.

The fact is, until the point of Martin's assault, no crime had been committed by either side. None.

As Martin continued to attack Zimmerman, and as Zimmerman called out for help in a terrified voice, he ultimately came to the conclusion that he was apt to die at the hands of Trayvon Martin.

At that point, the 6'2", healthy and strong youth was a potential murder, and an active criminal assaulting a citizen. Plain and simple. Whether he was 16, 24, 38 or 50. Does not matter. George Zimmerman was in danger of losing his life.

So he used his gun and shot Martin dead.

Classic case of self defense. That's all this is, and all it ever was.

Does not matter if Zmmerman was white, black, brown, red or yellow. Does not matter f MArtin was balck, white, red, brown or yellow.

One individual person was beating another individual person mercilessly and ended up being shot for it.

George Zimmeman is not guilty, he is innocent of any wrong doing.

For stating these direct, and simple truths, the race baiters, leftists, rabal rousers, etc. will shrilly call me racist, a right wing bigot, etc., etc. when nothing could be further from the truth.

That is the issue. The truth and getting it out there for all to see and understand. What they do with it is their affair...but it does not, and ever will, change the simple and direct facts of the case.

Trayvon’s mother sure likes her kid a lot more now that he’s a brand instead of a teen.

Yes but they are a very vocal minority and a loud one. Combined with with the dumbed downed , pugnacious ‘’victim culture’’ and grievance industry that exists today they will be heard all across the country and given plenty of air time on the statist media like CNN, NBC , MSNBC and all the other Democrat party propaganda organs. Such is the legacy of Martin Luther King and the Civil Rights movement. Nothing but race monger’s, poverty pimps, civil rights ‘’activists’’ and media whores.

They won’t rest until Zimmerman is either dead or in jail. I just hope that he can hold out, and not do something foolish like taking his own life.

Thank you. That was my first thought. Apparently this is standard practice in other setups as well - the rich set up a "trust" or some such, then put their kids in as six-figure "officers" and write the thing off as a "charity".
