Limbaugh: Republicans Want a New Base Without Tea Party

The Republican Party wishes the tea party would go away, and would prefer a new base altogether, says conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh.

In an hour-long interview with Fox News Channel’s Greta Van Susteren Tuesday, Limbaugh said the Republican leadership isn’t conservative.

“They’re not particularly crazy about conservatives,” he said, adding that members of the tea party can’t be controlled by the GOP leadership. In 2010, the grassroots movement rose up in opposition to President Barack Obama, but the Republican establishment didn't embrace them. …

Any Christian who is sincere about loving Jesus to the best of his or her awareness of the Lord, is going to pick up spiritual flak for it because it’s like tossing acid in the devil’s face. Sarah is in that spot. She might need to step up the boldness of her faith and love relationship with the Lord before she can make further progress... just a surmise, I do not wish to presume to judge a situation I don’t have info concerning her about (though I’ve seen how it has operated in my own life). One thing I know, her past failures have zero to do with whether the Lord can use her now; and failures for the Christian are but opportunities to lay his or her life down anew before the Lord, and while they are reasons to proceed prudently they are not reasons to wallow in worry.

Limbaugh is a business man and he makes a product that he sells. And he makes or customizes his product to achieve the highest level of sales and profit.

20 years ago he had a more mainstream product.

But as populism has swept thru the GOP, his product has become more populist.

The GOP was only a “Conservative” Party when Reagan was President.

O.K. let’s just fracture the fracture. Start hanging together or tying your own hangmans knot. Choice is an individual decision. If a true conservative has a chinamans chance then elect him. If a not so conservative GOPer is the only viable option then vote for him. Win big in midterms. We can hash the rest out afterwords. WE NEED TO EXTEND THE HOUSE DRAMATICLY and TAKE BACK THE SENATE.C’mon folks get on board or screw ourselves royally.

YES! YES! Stick with the GOP establishment, folks! Vote the "R"! Keep voting in the Boehners, the Grahams, the Murkowskis! Remember, if there's an "R" you know we'll go far! Vichy Republicans, HO!

Oh, and don't forget to send them your money! I know they hate you stupid conservatives, but they love your money almost as much as they LOVE your votes! See my tagline...

Actually, I’m going to listen to Rush’s show in a few minutes. For the first time in weeks. It’s my day off, and I’ve got my raggedy old boombox out in the garden right now. It’s gardening day, because all the rain we’ve had lately has made the weeds very happy. And Rush is going to keep me company while I work out there in the sun.

It's sad so many here on FR are so pessimistic or downright immature when it comes to what it actually takes to win at politics.

One loss sends them over the edge, ready for a third party, which loses each and every time (Ross Perot, anyone?)

One loss?

I've come to accept that there's a civil war in the Repub Party and the Roves will not surrender. He doesn't have to...he can raise millions.

I don't believe the RINOs can be removed from positions of power.

I don't believe they can be relied upon to protect our most basic rights, such as secure borders and free, fair elections.

I would look at a serious Third Party.

He has Sen. Mike Lee on now and is frustrated as to why Obamacare can’t be defunded.

Why do I call myself “A proud member of the vast, right-wing conspiracy”? That phrase was coined by Hillary Clinton during the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal. At the time, President Bill was desperately trying to lie his way out of the situation. She went on some talking head show and said that it was all “a vast, right-wing conspiracy” to destroy his presidency. It was allegedly spearheaded by Rush Limbaugh, of course, who was having the time of his life and raking in big bucks just for making fun of Bill and Hillary.
Today that phrase is just a sarcastic way of messing with paranoid liberals, who already think we’re out to get them.

I didn't intend to paint everyone as caving after one loss, but some simply cannot stand even one loss, especially when I've talked them in to donating to a really good conservative, though we MUST put our money where our mouth is.

Liberals will always donate but are very reluctant to walk the walk. Yes, liberals will throw lavish parties and get their deep-pocketed friends to shell out big bucks but we conservatives have the numbers, if not the buckets of gold but it does take everyone donating something.

I've tried telling many that want me to guarantee a candidate will win if they donate something. That I cannot do but I can guarantee that if people don't donate, the candidate will lose.

Liberals aka RINOs can be elected but it takes people who are willing to quit listening to the media and quit believing that if a conservative takes a position away from a RINO in a Primary, the Democrat will beat the "untested newcomer!"

It's amazing just how timid some conservatives are, or worse yet, are almost as bad as liberals, who are looking to get something from government! I have found out, after participating in some phone surveys, that what conservatives want are their "conservative brand of goodies!" They are just not willing to give up goodies - period.

That's exactly why Bush (W) was so devastating, he began many more programs that Clinton did, but they were "compassionate conservative" programs!

They've come back to bite us in a big way, i.e. White House religious outreach, now they're Muslim and/or pseudo-Christian!

Listening to The Rush Limbaugh show outside, had to take a break from the heat and cool off. Hey, Rush, how did America’s homeless get to Hawaii in the first place? Vagrants migrate around the country in search of good weather and the best day labor jobs, but Hawaii is on the other side of the world. You can’t get there on a Greyhound bus, and plane tickets ain’t cheap. How did they get there?

I didn't intend to paint everyone as caving after one loss, but some simply cannot stand even one loss...

Sad but true.

I can guarantee that if people don't donate, the candidate will lose...

True.

That's exactly why Bush (W) was so devastating, he began many more programs that Clinton did, but they were "compassionate conservative" programs!

Oh yes. Both W and his Daddy were big government republicans.

Rubio, to be sure, is no shining conservative. Had the grassroots not been able to defeat the establishment, we'd have Senator Crist.

We've got the Roves and the ePubs out bashing conservatives.

The point of the article is that the Roves, McCains, Grahams of the world are perfectly content to attack other republicans they consider too 'extreme.' How well would McCain have done against Obama had he been half as aggressive as he showed against JD?

I've concluded we can't win with them. That's why I'm open to the idea of a third party, as long as it's the right one.

Agree! Tired of hearing a third party can’t/won’t work. Fact is, the two party process has failed outright.

God Bless!
