I cannot find fault in any of your commentary only to add:

Farmers are the natural base for conservatives,(and the natural despised enemy of the 'Progressive") It was so when the Democratic Party was more culturally and to a point financially conservative then farmers switched when the GOP became Conservative friendly.

As America has “progressed” and technology makes farming less labor intensive and work elsewhere was more financially appealing, people have left the farm to join the urban workforce.

This left the workers at the whim of the business cycle and when the industrial mills abused and/or laid them off, they sought the protection offered by unions and the Left in general who supported the Big Hand of government as the tonic for all ills.

All farmers required from the government was recognition of their(property) rights, functioning courts, good roads(transportation)to the marketplace and from the federal government, open access to foreign markets(low or no tariffs)Same as you say for. “Small competitors” i.e. small businesses. Or as the Communist like to say, the Petite Bourgeoisie

When women left the farms with their menfolk to join the lure of the Big City life they found that their husbands incomes weren't sufficient so their found employment in the sweatshops.

Hazard conditions, poor pay and abusive employers led women to be a potent force in all the social movements. From Abolitionists to women's suffrage to prohibition and labor laws all became possible because they were crowded into dirty, dangerous industrial cities, mainly in the north but found in every region with large cities.

That's why cities became the natural base of the Left. It is the antithesis of the rural, conservative America.
And after WW2, the battleground became and still is in for the “hearts and minds” of Suburbia where Americans want the safety and cleanliness of the country but the wealth and opportunities of the cities.

I don't see an free market approach that will stop the decline in family farms. The Republican party is inept and careless about her natural allies and the Socialist feast on the revenues(especially the Death Tax(inheritance tax) that is ruinous to multigenerational farms like ours.

"Urban sprawl"wouldn't be the bugaboo it is if the Death tax didn't drain farm resources that could be put into new equipment, buildings, etc. Hell, I would be absolutely tickled pink if the Republicans would just get rid of it but they don't have the stones to do it.

If we could only "starve the beast" this would go along way to stop overreaching, intrusive power like Agenda 21.

And it would kill two birds with one stone. Help win GOP support from farmers and small businessmen and deprive the Opposition of revenue.

But as it has been said many times before, the GOP is the Stupid Party...

Then, like Rush says, FORCE them to produce a budget!

Of course they won't and, ooooOOOOH! the sky will fall when Government Shuts Down, but this appears to be the ONLY way that anything DRASTIC will get done.

And DRASTIC describes the straights we're in - along with DIRE, as well.

The GOP and Dems both report to the same financial oligarchy.

Government does not control the oligarchy, the oligarchy controls it, by controlling politicians. Why are so many politicians so corrupt ? Because those most corruptible are the ones the big money backs.

Think about it for a second. Government spending enriches big business. Why would "socialists" want to enrich big business ? Answer: "socialism" or "the left" is a front for the financial oligarchy that rules the nations. In a two-party country like America, an opposition party is needed. It - the "Republican" party - can be backed overtly by wealthy elites and be presented as the party of "business", while the wealthy elites' backing of the Democratic party needs to be more covert, due to the obvious hypocrisy of it. No problem, since wealthy elites control boards of trustees of schools, as well as boards of directors of entertainment and news media companies, the policies they set allow the "populace" to be easily convinced to ignore the hypocrisy of wealthy people supporting collectivism. The "populace" is kept obediently under control of leftist organizations and they amazingly continue to pay their own hard-earned money to the entertainment industry to see and hear their beloved wealthy, hypocritical, "leftist" entertainers, who are actually nothing more than desperate, ignorant whores, enslaved with a relatively small amount of money, debauchery, attention, etc.

The Republican party will never, ever do anything other than slowly march us all towards new world order - right along with the followers of the Democratic party.

Unless you or a group you belong to figuratively "own" a politician, you have zero representation in government.

An example of the financial oligarchy's control: if a farmer borrows from a bank in the Farm Credit System, he is borrowing from the oligarchy's banking syndicate, just as much as if he got a loan from any other bank for a personal loan or auto loan. Almost all of American capital is under the control of boards of directors controlled by the oligarchy. If you own all your farm and equipment outright or only borrow privately, and invest only in privately held businesses, then you're minimizing the "yoke" placed around your neck by the oligarchs.

We must always remember that in business bankruptcy, debt represents a claim on assets that is satisfied ahead of the claim of owners.

Owners get paid last. Debt must be paid, otherwise owner is not paid.

Ownership can quickly evaporate if a business is in debt up to its eyeballs.

The "little people" are kept ignorant of where the capital is and who has claims on it and who decides how it will be invested, and what the control of capital means directly in their lives.

Regarding the "death tax", there are various techniques to avoid or minimize it, notably life insurance (that's why proceeds remain tax-exempt), trusts, etc. It's perhaps a little unnerving for most Americans to make such moves, but the wealthy have always made a habit of avoiding taxes. It's not done in one year, though, it's a matter of preparation and it may involve taking some big steps and thinking far ahead with multiple professional planners.
