IMO Carter is part of the reason why North Korea has nuclear weaponry. Even the Clinton administration was getting ready to take action, when Carter sauntered into North Korea and short-circuited the process.
He had not authority whatsoever to bargain on behalf of the U. S. The Clinton's later tried to put a good face on it by saing he went on their behalf, but they were merely cover their rears, for not thinking of it themselves.
He's a national embarrassment to everyone, but even more to us.

As much as I detest Carter, I hope he is able to gain Mr. Bae’s release. Is he doing this on his own like he did previously or is this with the blessings of Obama and state department (not that I think they really give a damn about Mr. Bae)?
