I don’t care what they call it, I am here and in one piece.
It’s all in how you articulate it to the court.
In police firearms training, seven yards (21 feet) is considered to be ‘danger close’. This is a distance at which you can be attacked by an assailant with edged, blunt or personal weapons before you can work through your OODA loop (Orient, Observe, Decide, Act). In other words, too close for your reaction time to perceive and act to end a threat before the opponent closes the distance and gets a cut at you.
Much point-shooting drill is done at this range. Inside of 7 yards, the average individual is at a great disadvantage even if already armed unless they have already Oriented, Observed and Decided. At that point you have decided you are going to have a gunfight and all that is left is to Act.
Deciding first that you are going to have a gunfight is essential to surviving the encounter. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you shoot, but you are totally prepared to if necessary, and that includes grip, aim and front sight focus on the target. The psychological initiative is the winning edge.
It has saved my life multiple times and I never fired a shot.
What you’re saying makes sense,
but it sounds like you better have a GOOD firearms defense attorney on retainer.
As sad as this story is, it looks like a classic instance of a liberal getting mugged by reality.
Odd- I took a serious impact to the head as a teenager in about 1975 or 76. Dumb luck kept my skull from being crushed. As I read the account of the attack and the description of the injury, my head felt weird like it did several hours after it happened- and then I started to get an ocular migraine. First one I’ve had in years.
Wonder if that incident is where they originated? Odd that just reading about this brought it back like that.
Hope this guy makes as full a recovery as possible. What a nasty thing to have happen.
Just look for words and phrases like “random violence,” and “random attack” and “no known motive/no apparent motive” and “baffling, puzzling”... then you know.
You’re just lucky the thug didn’t call the police and file a report on you for brandishing. He probably didn’t as that would have taken time, and it was getting close to his 10 pm curfew. He didn’t want to be late getting home.
Just look for words and phrases like random violence, and random attack and no known motive/no apparent motive and baffling, puzzling... then you know.
Check out article, # 1, # 14.

No words, just frothing anger.
Prayers for this man and his family.
How did I erase the comment I made? Here goes again:
That's a GOOD thing! I was just pointing out the anti self-defense attitude of N.J. law and law enforcement.
If we were in session I’d tell you to go to the beginning of the incident and scan through to the end of the incident, with going earlier and recalling any decisions and feelings as needed until the ocular migraine vanished.
self ping
The attack was perpetrated in 2012.
The local NBC, CBS, ABC and Fox affiliates in DC has been covering this man’s story extensively over the last year.
Even the Wapo has covered it.
NBC didn’t cover Trayvon ‘locally’...
I’d heard that.
A gun would not have helped this poor guy. The beast suddenly smashed his head in with a bat. It was a racial attack.
Only avoiding left wing cities or traveling in packs will protect whites from black racists right now. Diversity racists in power don’t mind black racists attacking whites with baseball bats so it is going to get worse in the cities where liberals rule.
Let the leftist cities die like Detroit. Chicago is already feeling the effects of black racist attacks. When enough “important” people get lynched in DC, the Congress will crack down. White liberals love black racists for their voting schemes but that changes real fast when they or one of their own gets mugged. White liberals are the ones who live in the cities with the diversity racists they have created.
Wrong on the no gun part. Situational awareness+firearm=home safe reading with son.
