My first instinct is to trust the spooks.
But when they obviously lie to congress, knowing that many see through the lie, we have a problem.
Michelle Bachman is generally on the right side, but I believe her background is far too limited to be in the position she is in. It is possible that she has staff that compensate for that. Pray that it is so.
We have 2-3 from TX that I think have the experience, perception and honesty to resist the subjection.
Complicit. Should be obvious by now. Fast and Furious. Obamacare. Benghazi. IRS. NSA. DOJ. Immigration “reform.” The list goes on. We are on our own. It’s all Kabuki theater. No one on the Hill speaks for the American people anymore.
Those who may perhaps not be directly blackmailed have close relatives who may be vulnerable.
Bribes? Who knows? Maybe not $$, but campaign donations, choice committee positions, support for pet projects, BOD positions for family members, pardons or promises of no prosecution for relatives.....could be powerful incentives.
Folks, when you stop and think about it, it is not surprising. The NSA has the ability to gather ANY electronic transmission in the US.
The big “wall” that was supposedly present was that they could only collect calls, emails, texts, etc... when a foreign entity was involved on one end. What was shocking was to find out that the NSA collected and stored EVERYTHING and only “looked” at the foreign linked stuff.
We now know they apparently looked at anything and every thing. In clear violation of the law.
BTW, anyone who doesn’t realize it, the NSA collects EVERYTHING, not just metadata. They collect the voice calls and record them. Metadata would not require the massive storage facility in Utah. Voice recording would.
This is how the Democrats cook their elections.
Let the system survive, and YOU won’t.
The more people they have looking the MORE that will be discovered. They are SEARCHING for their ENEMIES
This is a Marxist, Socialist Government working to CREATE divides in the populous.
I am constantly having difficulty maintaining my DNS server connection. It is clear that it is related to the subjects that I write about. And the sites that I am logged onto.
The source of the problem??
It is not local. I know the techs at the local phone coop well. They are good people. But recently they have farmed out much of the tech support, upgraded software IPv4 to IPv6 and other things. The system now SUCKS BIG TIME. They even farmed out their email system to Google and the Cloud.
So, who is responsible? Not sure.
I had previously had emails frozen by ATT. That was the previous email connection they had. For 6 months I could not send an email to my daughter with an attachment. If I did the email simply never arrived.
Am I paranoid? No. It is a fact that it happened and is still happening.
Agreed.
I suspect it was a hail mary pass when she knew they were coming for her.
Didn’t help, though - they still placed her under formal investigation.
Yes, I already new that.
In the beginning, when Bamford’s “The Puzzle Palace’ came out I knew.
Later when I saw a radio event, false distress call, and weeks after the fact the “government” replayed the RF spectrum in stereo and after the fact triangulated the source of the transmission, I knew we had a problem.
The ruling class voted to continue the unconstitutional monitoring because it gives them an advantage over the competition. For example, Christine O’Donnell.
I used to have a copy of The Puzzle Palace. Should be required reading for every American. The ability the NSA has is almost beyond comprehension.
I Love Lists!
I did not vote for "the Won", but the other choices were equally bad: McLame or a mere protest vote for the Libertarian or Constitutional Party candidate.
Many people voted for Obama thinking it would be a good anti-racism statement and that he couldn't do that much damage in so short a time.
They were merely reckless, not necessarily dumb.
Seems like a lot of the elites criticizing Snowden don’t have a clue themselves about what’s going on there (or are lying to us):
Dick Cheney:
“It is difficult to understand how a contract employee had this kind of access,” Cheney added.
Cheney said the system established under the Bush administration was set up so tightly that only the president or a designated agent could access the kind of information that Snowden seemed to possess.
“Does Congress have their head up their posterior, or are they simply complicit?”
I’ve been reading articles about this NSA spying for over five years...now Congress is acting surprised and completely unaware of it?? See anyone fired or jailed yet? Pffft...simply complicit.
This revelation makes me wonder if the NSA gathers all of this data, stores it, but is not supposed to access it unless there is an actual investigation with a FISA warrant.
Kind of like the license plate cameras in local municipalities. They photograph every car license plate, keep the photos for some period of time (say, a few days to a week), and if there is a crime the cops can go back and search for the suspect’s car.
Both databases can be claimed to not be violating rights, but can be abused.
Welcome to surveillance nation. Big brother may not be watching you, but he is recording your every move on his TiVo.
We still have RINOs like Steven King claiming they don’t have access to emails.
