Why American Racism Is Impossible To Defeat
Townhall.com ^ | July 28, 2013 | Kevin McCullough

Posted on 07/28/2013 7:26:27 AM PDT by Kaslin

Despite all of the genuine hopes, by millions of people, of every tribe and tongue from every corner of this planet, an excruciatingly sad reality is being made perfectly clear.

The issue of race--and more specifically America's brand of racism--will never be defeated.

As the father of a multi-racial family, this reality strikes at the disappointment my soul feels about many things in our nation today, but none more personal.

Some who see the headline to this piece will immediately assume I've taken a position in this fight. Because I merely observe what is evident, and state my observation publicly. Some whites will believe I am attacking them. Many African-Americans will believe I am championing their grievances. The truth is neither, the truth is both, and the truth will never be admitted.

For it is impossible to cure a societal sickness, when parties don't wish for it to be cured!

And while there are some pockets where racial bias presents itself in the white to black reality of our culture, the overwhelming abusers of race, the manipulators of skin color, and the purveyors of hate based on ignorance and ill will--are actually those who claim they are fighting against it.

The case of Travon Martin's death is the complete evidence of that last assertion.

No where, was there an ounce of evidence that the man who shot Travon followed him, reported him, or defended himself against him--even for his very life--based on the color of Travon's skin. Yet "civil rights 'leaders'"--who in reality have more moral authority being a clown in a local circus than thoughtful and genuine purveyors of racial understanding--manipulated every element of fact in the case to convince the sleeping media--who refused to do their homework--that the man who shot Travon was racially motivated, racially biased, and hateful of races different than his.

None of which was proven in the elongated case, coverage during, or clownery following the conclusion.

Simply put, the Sharpton, Jackson, Holder, and Obama rhetoric--though stating it was dressed in compromise--actually was intended to incite further anger, resentment, and furtherance of the untruths told for months in the case.

So if the "civil rights 'leadership'" is throwing gas on the heated embers, how else will those--who choose not to investigate facts for themselves but accept these voices wholesale--react?

The accumulation of power in the minds of the four leaders mentioned above is more important than truly trying to find resolution, understanding, and accuracy.

Another bit of evidence in the matter is that when voices of reason do speak (i.e. Lisa Fritsch, Charles Barkley, Dr. William Cosby, et. al), based on seeing the facts for themselves and then urging calm they are shouted down. Or in Dr. Cosby's case--"Reverend" Jesse Jackson in a moment of candidness--utters desires to remove Cosby's anatomical manhood.

Also readily evident to any who would be honest is that when there are voices who point out that current solutions being touted for suffering neighborhoods are not working, squeals of "racism", come the same grievance inciters. So when a popular commentator on the largest news network points out the inconsistency of punishing a Latin American man harshly for an accidental death, while more or less ignoring the character, grooming, and integrity of African-American men who go on killing rampages in wholly African-American controlled neighborhoods is at a minimum hypocritical.

The truth--the cold hard truth--is that this cadre of voices (Sharpton, Holder, Jackson, Obama, et al.) benefit far more by practicing racism in theory, rhetoric, and actions, than by ever seeking honest resolutions. They continue to be propped up by those who keep themselves intellectually shallow of fact. And a handful of media outlets--mostly operated by NBC--seem to pander on the issue instead of seeking intellectually rigorous, heartfelt, passionate solutions to the problems that face the nation.

This combination of dishonesty, access, and support now furthers racist outcomes and those involved are directly contributing to the anger, vandalism, and violence that follows in its wake.

As the father of a son whose skin is darker than any of the men mentioned in this article, my fear is what consequences he faces, because of their vanity, selfishness, hubris, and greed.

See in order to end racism, you must not merely tolerate people who are different than you--but begin to truly honor, serve, and love them.

And it is the absence of honor in the character of today's "civil rights 'leaders'" that betrays their true intention: to practice racism, and to profit from it for themselves indefinitely.

Making it an issue that appears at present nearly impossible to defeat.

Tell me ten years from now how the kids in your family identify themselves Mr. McCullough.

You haven’t done them any favors with your mixed race marriage.

A shot of methylene blue will clear that up, right now!

I pulled this off the comments at the article:

The whole situation can best be summed up by a bumper sticker a friend of mine had back in the '90s:
"NAACP---The Klan With A Tan!"
Let the hate mail from the Sharpton-loving cowards who don't dare to admit the truth begin.

First, what is racism? If it is thinking bad things about other races then that will never end, and as long as it isn’t acted upon, it’s not a problem government can fix. If racism is burning down a house or hanging someone, that is dealt with by existing law.

Disliking people of a different race may be a character flaw, but that is for the individual, the family, and religion to handle. If people think passing a bunch of laws is going to make people love each other, they have fallen for the liberal’s fantasy that education will create the perfect man. It’s never going to happen. I’m tired of hearing about it. Let the law protect us from attacks based on racism or anything else, and let people deal with their personal issues in their own way.

I agree with Walter Williams that there shouldn’t be any anti-discrimination laws for individuals and private groups or businesses. If a business has a big old sign that says “No Italians allowed”, then it will lose a lot of business and many others will gladly accept an Italian’s money. Once anti-discrimination laws were passed that forced businesses and groups to accept people based on race, that opened a Pandora’s box and gave us what we have today which is homosexuals forcing people to provide flowers for their weddings, laws forcing people who object to fornication to accept co-habiting couples as renters, forcing single sex schools and groups to end their unique status, creating ambulance chasing lawyers who troll for lawsuits against businesses that are not 100% compliant with the ADA laws, affirmative action programs that hurt everyone and foster racial animosities, and the increase in the number of people who use the race card to shake down businesses and get free stuff.

There is a reason why the founders wanted freedom of association. We see how government can use “fairness” as an excuse for control.

I don’t give a damn. There’s been sixty years of reparations from of Affirmative action to the Pigford saga.

Enough.

It is instructive that Woodrow Wilson, a racist, hated Austro-Hungary, which was a multinational state and worked to break it up into its racial components.

Why American Racism Is Impossible To Defeat
Because The Wrong Race Is Being Called 'Racist'.
Because journalism as a whole is a bunch of “People of the same trade,” as Adam Smith put it, who are in a continuous 24/7 virtual meeting via the AP newswire, do what comes naturally.
People of the same trade seldom meet together, even for merriment and diversion, but the conversation ends in a conspiracy against the public, or in some contrivance to raise prices. It is impossible indeed to prevent such meetings, by any law which either could be executed, or would be consistent with liberty and justice. But though the law cannot hinder people of the same trade from sometimes assembling together, it ought to do nothing to facilitate such assemblies; much less to render them necessary. - Adam Smith, Wealth of Nations (Book I, Ch 10)
Big-time journalism as we know it is a conspiracy against the public. A conspiracy to promote journalists at the expense of those who try to earn their way in life with honest work.
Free and independent presses - not “a” free press (singular) is the planted assumption of the First Amendment. The sovereign remedy for this nonsense - not just the Zimmerman trial but Michael Nifong’s witch hunt, the Tawana Brawaly hoax, and so many others - would be a class action suit, under RiCO for ruinous triple damages naming the AP and its members as individuals for libeling the public. The lies by which journalism has slandered the public for gain - the lies about Zimmerman et. al. personally but the fact that those lies are really directed at the public - should bring them all down. They should be in receivership. They should be forced to recant as publicly, and as emphatically and as persistently as they have lied.

The only thing I want to read now is that such a lawsuit - or, at a minimum, the lawsuit filed against NBC for broadcasting Zimmerman’s interaction with the NEN police operator, with an answer and then a question excised, is going forward and is providing amply for the entire futures of not only George Zimmerman, and not only for his family, but also for every one of Zimmerman’s friends and neighbors who have been imperiled by the threats NBC has helped arouse.

I was going to ask the same question: “What is racism?”

It seems that most people describe racism as being “white people who are proud of being white.”

As Gen X, Y and Z get older, this attitude will be the dominant among them. How could a father tell his teenage son that he was displaced in a job or college because a minority had to be chosen. This teenager will rightfully ask, "what did I do to deserve this?"

In our country’s recent history we’ve celebrated diversity in our population as if it were a good thing. However, one look at world history will show you that no country with a diverse population of different races, languages, and religion has long survived.

Countries don’t naturally form with a diverse population, and when in the past they’ve occurred it’s usually been as the result of armed conquest. These unnaturally formed countries have either melded together into a single population made up of one mixed race with one language and one religion or they’ve come apart, and they’ve usually come apart with extreme violence. The longer these diverse populations are forced to coexist with one another without mixing and becoming one, the more the hatred grows among them and the more violently they break apart, but break apart they will, or genocide will settle the issue once and for all.

Why is this and why can’t we all just get along? The truth of the matter is that we (the human race) just aren’t as civilized as we would like to think we are. Genus Homo sapiens isn’t that long “out of the trees” and the veneer of civilization is very thin, to non-existent, upon us all. We’re all carrying the genes that got us here and some of those genes carry a very basic survival instinct that has allowed us to survive thus far.

This most basic of all survival instincts is self preservation and it is the one that warns us to be very wary of those who are different than us, our family, and our tribe. Those who possessed this survival instinct survived and reproduced, and those who had no fear/distrust of strangers didn’t survive. Over the years, this survival instinct has been referred to as tribalism, nationalism, ethnocentrism, racism, and various other isms, but it’s an inborn instinct carried in our genes whether we like it or not.

My kids are already being screwed by affirmative action and I’ve had to warn them repeatedly that they have to work harder than their non-white friends because they face a higher standard to be admitted to the good schools at every level of their education.

That is true and it is a provable fact of nature.

You can put 2 doz white eggs and 2 dozen brown eggs in an incubator and when they hatch the the white and brown chicks will immediately separate into groups of their same color.

It works the same with full grown chickens.

“I had a certain black guy tell me he didn’t want to raise his child around black people”

I work with 3 African-Americans (Ghana, Kenya, & Ethiopia) and all 3 have a lot to say about American black culture, the majority of which is not flattering. The Africans are self-confident, raise their families in intact homes, value education, and lack the racist chip on their shoulders that a lot of black Americans have.

A year or so back, much to my bemusement, I watched my Ghanaian friend put an American black in his place over black American “culture” and the grievance racket that goes along with it. All the standard tropes didn’t work and the American (a fine fellow, really) was reduced to declaring that nobody outside his “community” could possibly understand.

“didn’t make them very prosperous, peaceful, or civilized”

Correct - it took the prosperous civilized Americans (mainly) to bring that to Japan after WW2.

I have nothing against racial purity, but I still believe in the Individual more than the Group, no matter what the category. However, the Individual must be inculcated with some baseline fundamentals on prosperity, peacefulness, and civil behavior, which I believe is best taught through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Some years back while on an assignment in Africa, I found my African counterpart to be one of the most intelligent and industrious men I had ever known. One day in a conversation with my African counterpart, I mentioned that in my over fifty years living in the United States I had never met a black American as intelligent as he was.

He replied, “Why do you think we sold them to you?”

I don't see any young Sharptons or Jackson waiting in the wings to pick up the... mantle... once they go their eternal reward.

You haven't been paying attention, then.

When Malik Shabazz comes to your campus, be ready for a fiery, racist, anti-Semitic and anti-Israel rant. Shabazz is the leader of the New Black Panther Party...

Human beings,ALL human beings, are hard wired to prefer the company of their own kind.

So who are your kind? Do you restrict your tribal choices based on race, or do you consider those of like mind and character to be part of the group you're hard-wired to keep company with?
