In a perverse bit of post-trial agitprop, ABC News somehow recruited the one woman of color on George Zimmerman's "all white" jury and twisted her words to reflect the presumed editorial position of ABC News.
In this clip from an exclusive Robin Roberts interview which has played just about everywhere including CBS News, Roberts says to the juror, "Some people have said, point blank, 'George Zimmerman got away with murder.' How do you respond to those people who say that?"
In the edited video ABC floated about, "Maddy" answers unhesitatingly, "George Zimmerman got away with murder. But you can't get away from God."
This clip led to headlines like "Juror Says Zimmerman 'Got Away With Murder'" in the New York Times......
What none of these publications mentioned -- and kudos to Slate's William Saletan for breaking the story -- is that the producers at ABC edited Maddy's response to have her say something she never intended.
In the unedited version, after Roberts asks her leading question, Maddy pauses, starts her response over, and clearly plays back Roberts' question as the stated premise to her own answer, "But you can't get away from God." In other words, this is how she would answer that question if asked.
She never implied Zimmerman got away with murder, nor agreed with the premise. In fact, she stood by her decision to acquit Zimmerman.
ABC's reporting on this case has descended to a hitherto unexplored level of journalistic malfeasance..............

It is time to pack your bags and move to HK or Russia and sue them from there, GZ!
Actually, I’m not so sure that she understood or took into account the difference between killing someone and the legal definition of murder, when she amswered the question.
You’re right - that wasn’t clear to me either. Someone was shot and killed. She seemed to be all hung up and troubled that Zimmerman, in fact anyone, wasn’t held accountable. So she threw in there that we’re all accountable in a way, ultimately to God.
If I got her meaning thoughout the interview it was that she argued and argued with her fellow jurors on this basis, of accountability for the killing. It never seemed to dawn on her that Martin himself had any culpability. The self defense law at the point of the gunshot had trouble getting through to her.
In the end she went so far as to say the case never should have been brought, even though she was all racked up about accountability for the killing.
Well, why, then, should no case have been brought? Apparently the single point that reached her brain was that the evidence did not support the charge. The law was tangential to that, because, if the evidence doesn’t support the charge then the law says you must acquit.
Thank God this jury had some people on it - especially the other juror that first spoke out - and apparently two more, that “GOT IT” from the get-go.

Juror B29 was framed sort of (Another shameful editing by the lamestream media against Zimmerman)
Maybe the Z team should sue them selves for civil rights violations, present the facts on Martin then concede a loss.
The info will be out there.
I think this is why the family rescued by "Super George" Zimmerman canceled their news conferences and went dark.
The totally corrupt MSM still has trouble cutting and splicing silence.
I'm a lot sure that you are correct.
The Socialist left has deliberately done the same to the Lord's Ten Commandments for at least a couple of centuries now.
bump
Our MSM is sullying the name of yellow journalism.
Does anyone think this juror looks white or Hispanic?
She certainly does not sound like either.
