There might be video footage, etc. around and they should at least pretend to investigate it. He's young and fit, but what are they going to say when these thugs kill some older innocent victim? There's no point in the police investigating because they might not find the thugs? Heck, that's true in any case, but you still have to investigate.

It was in Cleveland, not Dallas. HOWEVER, Dallas has been guilty of hedging on physical descriptions of perps, “Young man wearing jeans and white t-shirt” is typical. I’m always tempted to call the Dallas PD and say, “I’m pretty sure I saw him.”
