The U.S. national debt would reach 1.1 million miles into space if stacked in one dollar bills.
According to the latest available data from the U.S. Treasury, the total public debt outstanding is $16,738,105,803,858.21. A dollar bill is .0043 inches in thickness.

Rough math here, but that’s about 50 times around the equator of earth.
whole lotta cold, hard cash.

Naw. The rotten structure will collapse under its own weight at some not too distant date, a default is as inevitable as the Dawn...
Thats a boatload of money backed BY NOTHING!.. nothing at all..
except the good wishes of the American people mostly high on marijuana or something else..
Little wonder many people voted multiple times in the Nov 6th 2012 elections.. with illegal insurgents being called citizens.. WHO ALSO VOTED..
AND NOBODY REALLY CARES..
.... Holy Guacamole .... we better borrow more money to pay off the National Debt before it gets any bigger!!!!
You’ve got it, and then some. Your share of the national debt is about $50K, or 18 ft of stacked dollar bills.
I don’t know why everybody is so worked up over this. There isn’t enough paper in the world to print that many dollar bills, so...obviously there’s no problem.
