But our Big Bro’ has apparently made it doctrine that military training and combat standards will be the same for men and women recruits.
At the same time, they will be different. Doublethink. No, this won’t end well for any troops depending on others in their squad; but in the spirit of doublethink, it will work out fine for those who may not be dependable themselves.

Worked just fine for another communist military: AFAIK, Nazy haven't even recognized allied female soldiers as any legitimate combatants. Under their instructions women in uniform had to be shot on spot as insurgents.

Overwhelmingly women in the Army want no part of the Combat Arms. They pretty much look upon the Army as a sort of social welfare program with great benefits, good childcare and opportunities to travel. Aside from some rather eccentric females the enlisted ranks want no part of the combat forces. This program is simply to enable some ambitious female officers who are USMA or Texas A & M or VPI grads who know that only officers from the combat arms get the really powerful staff and command billets. It is not that these females want a career in the Infantry, Armor or Artillery. They want the combat arms career designation and get their tickets punched by pulling relatively short tours with tactical units and spend most of their career as staff officers. Imagine a female version of the current CJCS or Colin Powell and you have the perfect idea of what these women want to be. They will burden the armed services with really awful careerist opportunists and be untouchables by virtue of their gender and 'combat arms' status. The same dynamic is going to work with 'openly gay' officers. Whether recognized 'officially' as a protected class they will be and their will be unofficial but very powerful pressure for quotas for the gay blades. Watch for demands from politicians for promoting and recognizing 'openly gay officers'. The US Army is headed down the road towards real moral corruption and being a traditional soldier or officer is going to become very very difficult. But that is a big reason for these changes. This is what 'transformative strategies' are all about.

This has always been the liberals biggest failing: They think they know everything, so why have a plan B ready to go in case things fall apart.

Maybe they should just start decreasing the amount of combat training for everyone and increase the amount of time spent in sexual assault, suicide, and anti-terrorism briefs as well as time spent on pointless area beautification details.

Oh wait, they’re already doing that.
