Any visa is amnesty.

Simply being allowed to remain in the U.S. with no threat of deportation is itself amnesty.

Deportation has been held in court to not be a punishment. It is merely repatriation. In fact, if criminal penalties were to be considered, they would have to be arrested, charged and wait for trial. Normally, all those proceedings are waived by the illegal when they agree to repatriation.

Exactly. And Karl Rove is already pimping "It's not amnesty. It's a probationary visa" nonsense. Does the GOP-e think we're stupid?
