Israel is US’ largest export market in the ME.
Now if the natural gas and oil proves out, and the water shortage is solved, the land of “milk and honey” will be very desirable to its neighbors, and the world, with indifference to its religious significance.

Israel needs to pursue all of these possibilities but it might take another whole new Navy to keep the scum-jealous Arabs or Turks from sabotaging the facilities.

Israel has a tiny Navy, albeit powerful but the Lebanese, North Cypriots, Turks and Syrians would love to deny Israel energy independence. The way I see it, if the Israelis do this right, they will become a mega-superpower in the region - they already are strong but this will boost them tremendously.
