A society of rabid animals requires airlock style entry points.
A civil society requires no such thing.
It is not so much of problem of a civilized society, in that there are a whole bunch of incredible fools walking around.
I know a bank at a crossroads in Scottsdale, and they were getting robbed at least once a month. The robbers *never* got away, and seldom got more than a few blocks in any direction before being arrested. But it became so annoying, they put a Sheriff’s deputy, in uniform, on a chair to watch the customers. It didn’t matter one bit. The imbeciles kept trying to rob the bank with him sitting there.
Finally they had enough so they put up laminate between the tellers and the customers. There were just a few more attempts before it finally penetrated their pea brains and they stopped trying to rob the place.
And this was before Arizona went full gun liberty. Today even the utter idiots realize that if they try to rob somebody there is a good chance they will be shot. So the saying is that an armed criminal in Arizona is either not from there (probably Mexico), or is so insane they don’t care that somebody else is shooting at them.
Yet, even today, every now and then somebody will be so crazy that they will draw down on an Arizona cop. It is going to be a long time before such people are culled.
