SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. A San Francisco Fire Department spokeswoman said Monday that the agency is still investigating which rig ran over and killed a 16-year-old Asiana Airlines crash survivor, and infrared equipment wouldn't have had any bearing on the situation.
The San Francisco Chronicle reported that a two-axle truck believed to have run over Ye Meng Yuan as it moved to get a better position to spray foam on fire was not equipped with infrared imaging technology now required by federal law.

I guess they were those huge Oshkosh Fire Trucks. I have seen them at Eglin and getting run over by one of them would obviously be fatal.
The poor girl was covered in foam when hit. She wasn’t killed by the SFO Fire Department, she was killed by the plane crash, as it created an impossible scenario for guaranteeing everybody’s safety.
Sometimes really, really bad things just happen. It doesn’t mean there is anything to be gained by further blame-storming.
If she fell out of the plane when the tail was broken off then she died on impact with the ground. The human body will not take that kind of blunt force trauma.
